I Love to See the Temple

Temples!!Yet again another first for Steph. Jakob decided that since we came all too late at Christmas and missed out on a MAJOR Tobler tradition that we would do it ourselves for date night. We had to make a candy run of course! We kept our ideas secret and started to create. Clearly we are on the same brain wave! It was a very fun and yet (at times) frustrating experience. Mine defiantly fell apart a few times. Jakob seems to have a creative side that I did not know about. Art work at it's finest. :) You can tell Jakob's been doing this for awhile! I'll defiantly have to practice before we create these with the family in 2 years. :)

The Inner Child

Well to help out the soon to be hubby, and so I can explore the world outside Mom and Dad Tobler's home. I decided to do some baby sitting! I love kids, and for me this was really fun! It gave me something to do while Jakob was at work. :) So I shall introduce you to my new friends!
This is Austin (Yes he is totally drooling in this picture)
&&

This is Tristen and her little sister Seven (yes like 7) below!
These two girls are so precious!

send to a time we will not see

Be Mine?

Happy Valentines Day!

This week was Valentines week for Mr. Tobler He got a new gift every morning starting on Sunday. Day 1: A chain that had reasons why I loved him that was a count down till the wedding! Day 2: A home made card. Day 3: A chain link of hearts that had his name spelled out in an acronym. Day 4: Love quotes EVERYWHERE! That was lots of fun to set up! Day 5: A coupon book full of little favors such as a candle lit dinner, breakfast in bed, a back massage & so on! Day 6: Cookies! Mom Tobler and I had so much fun decorating these! There were a lot more than I had anticipated, but they turned out great and our lovely men sure liked them!Unfortunately Jakob had to work on Saturday so we couldn't do our surprise date that I had planned. But that is okay. It was nice to spend time together and run some errands. It was a fabulous Valentines Day. I love you Handsome! xoxo

Jakob's Me Day

&&it''s all about me!
It is not very often that we take a whole day to focus on Jakob, so today we decided that that would be a perfect idea! He is in desperate need of some new clothing, so we went shopping on his behalf! First stop Banana Republic, where we found some awesome deals! Then we go to Hollister where Jakob gets offered a job. MMM he's not to keen on working there. Then we continue our adventures to come across this piece of "art". Seriously what is this world coming to? It's sad when we have to make a heart made out of red condoms! But moving on!

Jakob ended up coming across some fancy cars. After the cars we stopped in at Abercrombie. There was a little lady in there that offered Jakob a job, she didn't even glance at me. Apparently he's the stud in our relationship. :) We'll see if he ends up accepting either offer.

Then we got a little hungry. :) Time for a fat filled McDonald's run which consisted of the following:

  1. 1 soft drink
  2. 1 strawberry sundae (we recommend these!)
  3. 2 Jr. Chicken sandwiches
  4. 2 double cheeseburgers
  5. 1 large fries
  6. 2 apple pies
Perhaps the Tobler boys WILL win the "Jakob becoming huge" bet. ;)

The Perfect First Date

Monday January 26th, 2009
This was the most unexpected surprise! Jakob told me before he left for school in the morning that I had to dress up and look pretty, (he said that he was wearing a suit so clearly he meant dress up!) he said that we were going to go on our "first date"; Being that Jakob and I had never dated in the past.
He also said to make a CD of 15 songs that we could waltz to. I asked him if we were going to a club and he said no. Then I asked if I was going to be on my feet for a long time and he said no. Clearly I had NO CLUE as to where we were going. So 4 o'clock rolls around and away we went. He took me down to the strip where we walked into the Venetian. We walked around for a bit and then we came across a restaurant named Canaletto. We had the most adorable dinner, of which neither Jakob or I could pronounce the names of.
So now I know that something is up and still I'm confused out of my mind. Jakob HATES driving downtown during rush hour. In addition to he really does not like going out to eat, and yet here we sit at a restaurant on the strip. What does a CD full of waltzing music have to do with any of this??
Well after our meal we went on another walk, down an escalator, around a corner where we come to the PHANTOM THEATER! I practically had a heart attack! I was so exited!! So I got to cross something off of my list and this was defiantly a Opera I wanted to see! The perfect first date! The play was outstanding! I wish I took more pictures!
Need less to say I thought this was the end of our date. (what more could there possibly be?) But when we got into the car we drove to this hill. From this hill we could see the entire city of Vegas! It was so pretty!!! So he turned off the car and left the head lights on, then he turned on the CD that I had made earlier that day and we were waltzing outside under the stars, looking at the Las Vegas skyline. Yes Jakob is a romantic. And just when I thought I had had it all, he pulls out some sparkling cider. By far the most romantic evening I have ever experienced. My boy is FAR to good to me!

First Time to the Hoover Dam!

Saturday January 24th

This was pretty much the cutest day I have ever had! So I woke up in the morning to my amazing fiance bringing me breakfast in bed! SO cute it even had a little leaf for decoration.
Then at 12:30 we went to our first DANCE LESSON! I was so thrilled! I love dancing and the fact that Jakob wanted to learn and do this as a couple meant so much to me. So we got to learn the basics for the Salsa and the Waltz. Our dance instructor Ross was amazing! I can't wait to learn more!

Then we came home to take a nap, but I wasn't tired so Jakob told me to grab some paper, the ipod, and the camera and jump in the car. Then we went to Hoover Dam to throw airplanes over the edge. It was so cute! And I have never been there before! Needless to say Jakob's plane made it farther than mine. Clearly do to American engineering. ;)

We continued the adventure by walking down the main street in Bolder City & consequently taking pictures with statues! After we went to a church to check out some local musical talent with Jakob's friend Ryan Duke. It was really neat! All in all it was a fabulous day!

I Love His Spontaneity

The First of Many

OH MY GOODNESS! This is officially our first blog! I'm not even sure I know how to do these sort of things! I suppose to catch everyone up this will be quite long! So here goes our list from October 2008 till now!
  1. October 8th, 2008 ~ Elder Jakob Tobler returns home from his mission served in Edmonton Alberta, Canada. We are so proud of him. Everyone home in Canada misses him so much and can not wait until he comes back to visit!
  2. October 29th, 2008 ~ I fly down to meet the soon to be in-laws and see Jakob for the first time since our engagement. We had a very awkward first kiss in the airport but after that things began to glide along quite easily. I got to stay with the Tobler family for a week. We did all sorts of fun things; baking, hiking & lots of dancing. Daughter-in-Law training the Tobler family calls it.
  3. The following week Jakob and I went on a road trip to California to visit my Maid of Honor & cousin Jessica. Jakob got to spend time with my Grandma (she absolutely adores him!) my aunt & my uncle. They all commented on how handsome he was! After Calli, we drove to Portland to visit Jakob's old friend Michael. He was so nice! I really enjoyed spending time with him. Then off to Pasco so I could see Jakob's old stomping grounds. Apparently not much has changed. We met up with his friend Travis and I had my first Taco Wagon experience!!! The following day we drove up to Kamloops BC to visit my second mother Janet. It was so nice to see their family! And onward home. It was an excellent opportunity for Jakob and I to spend time together and for me to give Jakob a lesson in musical tastes! ;)
  4. The following week was spent with my family. My mother is in love with Jakob and any opportunity she has to spend with him she can. They get along quite well.
  5. November 10th, 2008 ~ Jakob and I go to take engagement photos. It was so much fun! We ended up at the Legislature Building where we were doing a "mock proposal." So Jakob got down on one knee and took off my twist tie. (That had been my engagement ring for the past 3 weeks.) I was quite upset about this and said "Oh now I'm not engaged any more!" Jakob laughed and said; "Well we'll have to fix that." At that moment he pulled out a diamond ring and said; " Stephanie I love you, Will you marry me?" Yeah it was pretty darn romantic. Of course I was all bubbly and said "YES!" It was totally unexpected.
  6. November 11th, 2009 ~ Jakob left at 6:00 in the morning to return home. At 8:00 I got a phone call saying that he had been in an accident and he needed me to pick him up. Fanatically we went to find him! Thank goodness he was okay! Unfortunately Little Flash (the Ford Ranger) didn't make it out so lucky. He would be flying home on Saturday.
  7. Lots of little things happened in between! Purchase a wedding dress, book buildings, hire a photographer! Crazy Crazy Busy!
  8. December 23rd, 2008 ~ I left at 4:00 a.m to go to the airport to fly to Seattle for Tobler Christmas. Unfortunately and much to my frustration my flight was cancelled. So after standing in lines for hours and not making any progress we returned home and booked another flight. I go to check to see if my new flight is still a go. Turns out that flight did not even exist! After many tears and a great deal of anger on my behalf Jakob found a direct flight for the next morning!
  9. December 24rd, 2008 ~ I flew down to Seattle to meet my new family. That was nerve racking. There was SO MANY of them! there were 12 Adults, 1 two year old a 6 month old and 2 two week old! It was a lot of fun! Everyone was so welcoming! We had a good time filled with dancing, spandex (Kyle's directors outfit), laughter & many many memories!
  10. December 31st, 2008 ~ We fly home back to Vegas and Jakob has to work that evening. Father Tobler and I watch a movie and I sleep through New Years. I know REALLY pathetic!!! Happy 2009!! :)
  11. Another week of adventures meeting Clair and adventuring with Dad Tobler when Jakob was at work! Then I fly back to Canada to pack and move down for good!
  12. INVITATION SWEAT SHOP!! OH my GOODNESS! This took forever! Thank heaven for Sarah and Rosa who came to help poor mother and I! 17 hours of cutting, pasting, stamping, typing, threading, printing, measuring, and laughing! We even got Chris in there to help! Thanks to all that saved me in a time of chaos!
  13. Day before the GRAND MOVE! Sarah, Caitlin and I head up to Rabbit Hill for some snowboarding! It was my first time in three years! Eventually it got cold so we stayed inside to chat with Mamma Moisey! I'll Miss you girls!! Love You!
  14. Now I am Living In SUNNY yet rather chilly Las Vegas! I'll give ya'll a further update of the past month in due time!
