January Phone Favorites

Okay, seriously, WHERE did January go?! Honestly, I have done nothing worth while to account for an entire month passing by. How do you make time slow down? If someone knows the solution I would love to know your secret. January was filled with lots of chilly days so we stayed indoors for the most part. There were however a few days of sunshine and we made the most of them!

After New Years we played the cup stacking game a few more times with friends. That night E grabbed the cups and just started stacking them up. She was pretty good at the take down too! It was so cute. Little people are always watching, we never told her how to do it but she knew, she even knew that there were 6 on the bottom. Smart girl!

Flying back home to Vegas with Elsa buckled in and reading the emergency pamphlet intently.

Daddy made Rapunzel her very own Star Wars dress.

It is cold in Nashville. You could see these massive icicles on all of the freeways.

Since it's so chilly Jakob takes the car to school instead of the scooter which leaves us stranded at home. Let me tell you after three days we were about to go crazy so I bundled them up and we went outside while it was a crisp 30°F. It didn't last long but it fresh air was needed!

I love it when she dresses herself. Boots, polka dot dress, lace cardigan, and apron. She is so cute!

I asked her what color her eyes were. She did this and said "See Mommy, they BLUE!"

E has started writing her ABC's. It's slow and totally hit or miss but when we can actually sit down she really enjoys doing it!

We have played with Play Doh every day this month. E is obsessed!

On one of the few sunny days we went to the park at the Zoo. I {love} this place!

Proof the Jakob loves his daughter!

Duke really enjoys listening to movies at the computer with headphones while sister takes her bath.

 "Look Mommy! I have a choc-lat mus-ash" (Chocolate mustache)

"Mommy! Take a picture of train wreck for Pa!"

She said she was a fairy sleeping by the tree like Tinkerbell

 Woohooo!!! Sunshine!!!!!

In an attempt not to go completely insane we invited some friends and their Mama's over. (This was more for me than for E.) E has loved having friends come and play!

We've also really gotten into baking/ cooking and E loves to help. She also insists that we wear our matching aprons because "they are soooooo cute Mommy!" (Thanks again Grammy!)

The mountain goat strikes again. This boy is ALWAYS climbing.

And finally my Dad has booked some tickets to come and visit. We are so excited! I told E that Opa was coming for her birthday. She started jumping up and down then she raced into her room and got her bear and silky and laid down by the door. I asked her what she was doing and she said "I just wait for Opa to come." It was so hard and broke my heart to tell her that her birthday was still a month away. Poor girl.

Well there goes January 2015! Bring on February, full of Valentines, Visitors and of course E's Frozen Birthday. I can't wait to share all of my recent creations!

Get Your Craft On!

As of quite recently I have decided that I would like to start a craft blog. We have been getting A TON of traffic to the blog through Pinterest and while I love and appreciate my followers I think it's time to separate our family journal from all of my crafts. I will still post my crafts here as well as this is my family journal but I'm hoping to be able to redirect the traffic from our personal lives to my creative life. I am super excited about my new craft blog. There is a link in the tabs below my banner. I am still working on transferring all of my previous crafts and creations over so please be patient with me. As always thank you for your sweet comments and e-mails. Your interest in my projects make my day! Here's to Getting Your Craft On!

Snow in Nashville

One morning we woke up to a winter wonderland. E and I ran outside to take a few pictures in her Elsa dress. It was already starting to warm up and melt.

I tried to get her to tell me how old she was turning she insisted that she was four. :)

After we took some pictures we race back inside to put on some warmer clothes. E was begging me for a snow man so that's exactly what we made.

She was so excited to help Mama make her snow man. Hopefully there will be sticky snow in Canada when we go for Christmas so that we can make a big one! It was a fun morning! The snow was all gone by 10:00 a.m. and I think that's the way I like it!

Don't Eat Pete!

As per my New Years Resolution, Jakob and I rocked our our first ever FHE! We said a prayer, Jakob spoke about Jesus for a solid 45 seconds and then it was time for a game.

We figured Don't Eat Pete would be a good choice plus I was counting it as our treat ;). (We like to go all out can't you tell ;) ) E was doing pretty good. At first she was super cautious looking at us seeing if it was okay, every time she took a candy.

After three candies she was just happy as could be.

She finally got to "Pete" and we shouted "Don't Eat Pete!" We were pretty loud and we made her jump at least a foot out of her chair. She instantly started bawling. She really doesn't like being shouted and she was super confused. Needless to say, that was the end of FHE. We are awesome parents! We get points for trying though don't we? Poor Peanut!

Drip, Drip!

A few Sunday's ago I gave a talk in Sacrament meeting about goals. It was going pretty well, I was super nervous for some reason (usually public speaking doesn't bother me) but still I felt that I was doing alright. I cried pretty well throughout the entire thing. It's not my fault really, every since Ethnie was born I've been an emotional hot mess when it comes to spiritual things. My emotions are wired directly to my tear ducts. Anyways, I was about to tell a story and I began to cry then out of no where my nose drips ONTO the pulpit. I mean, it didn't even feel as though my nose was running and then BOOM a waterfall from my nose. I was so shocked that I stopped mid sentence and said "Oh my gosh! Did you guys see that?!" Some people laughed nervously and by now all eyes were focused on me. I then continued by saying "That was disgusting! I mean how do you even recover from something like that?!" A few people giggled. I grabbed a Kleenex, and wiped the pulpit where my snot was and quickly pulled myself together and then I finished my story. I mean, really who does that happen to?? Anyways apparently only a few people actually saw the offense most people were laughing at my reaction. I think it was more funny than embarrassing. Needless to say, people remembered my talk.

100% Trained

After returning home E went into this stage of constipation. It was miserable for everyone. She would just sit in my arms and sob. Then one day during tub time E told Daddy that she had to go. He plopped her down on the potty and that was it! No more going poo in her diaper. I'm not exactly sure what clicked but she decided she was ready and we couldn't be more proud of her! Man, potty training is no joke! E's such a big girl!

Getting Into Our Groove

After spending a month in Vegas with some extra hands always around it becomes quite the adjustment going back to your usual routine... flying solo. Compile that with a little man who is ALL about climbing and you have a great time getting back into your groove.

Throw in a car that won't start (don't worry it was an easy fix), plus it being too cold to drive the scooter (so Daddy takes the car) which leaves us stranded at home and let me tell you, you have your work cut out for you.

So, we resumed business as usual with Skyping, and playing with Play Doh.

There have been a TON of birds outside for the past few days. When it warms up we'll go chase them :)
E's curl's came back! I think that is the only thing I like about humidity.

After four days of being couped up with no car I decided to break out the slide! Duke was beyond excited! He quickly learned how to climb up the steps.

Tada! Such a big boy!

And did I mention fearless??

Some days we just play, play, play!

Other days, Mama just sits and takes pictures of her happy babies.

E likes to make silly faces and then look at pictures of herself and laugh.

And then... when all else fails... we plug in. It is so good to be home in our own space but we sure do miss Grammy and Pa!
