Turtles!

Our little reptile children are turning 7 soon!!! That is a little bit difficult to believe!! Walter here is a whopping 10"! I couldn't believe how big they were. They are such social turtles following everyone around the yard.

 Reunited with little Sig again!

 He takes great selfies!

Sig is measuring in at about 7" and is clearly much smaller than Walter! I so totally love these turtles and it at always a highlight to see them every time we visit!!

Puppies

On of our family friends in Vegas's dog had puppies. They were nice enough to let us come by and hold them!! We were pretty excited!!

They were so sweet and so small!!

I was pretty tempted to stick this little guy in my pocket and take him home with me.

Thank you Sister Astle for letting my crew some see the puppies! It was wonderful to see you!!

Charlie

One of our friends was going out of town for a week and needed someone to watch their dog. We were up for the task and welcomed Charlie into our home for the week. The kids were pretty excited!

Charlie is a great dog! She loved standing by the window and would go nuts every time she would see a squirrel.

I swear this dog was part human. She wanted to be right by your side. I total shadow. She didn't like to be outside alone, which worked out perfectly because E doesn't like being outside alone either. Those two would be in the back yard for hours just hanging out together.

But when push came to shove, she was Gramma's dog. She loved to be right next to her.

It was pretty wet while Charlie was here so she got a bath every night, sometimes twice a day just to get the mud off of her. She was a great sport.

A quick blow dry and she's off to bed. It was fun having Charlie for the week but it just reiterated that I am SO NOT READY to have any pets any time soon!! E has wanted a puppy for a few years now and I told her that we would talk about it after we finish having babies. She keeps asking me if I'm pregnant, I'm not sure if she wants a sister or a puppy more.

Turtles

I love going home to see my little reptile children!

This is the first time the kids even noticed them. They liked to say hi and feed them but other than that they were pretty indifferent.

E was pretty cute she ran outside and saw the turtle then came running back in and excitedly said "Mama! I remember Grammy has turtles. You LOVE turtles Mama! Can you really actually take a picture of my and Water (Walter)?"

These turtles like their people. They will follow you allover the yard. Walter is big enough to climb in the house.
The turtles are turning 6 this year! Crazy! Here is Sig measuring in at approx. 7 1/2"

And Walter measruing in at a whopping 9 1/2- 10"

You can totally tell Sig is my turtle. He's a bit crankier, fussy eater but still likes to follow you around. Walter is just happy as can be, eats anything you give him and will follow you like a puppy.

How I missed them, until next year little ones!

Swishy the Kitty

One afternoon while E and Emery were playing outside this beautiful cat came into the back yard to play. E and Em thought that playing with her was fun until someone got a bit to rough and the kitty bit E. When the girls tried to come inside the cat wanted in too. She was beyond friendly. It came bounding towards the door and that is when I freaked. I hate cats. They are pretty from a distance but they seriously freak me out. It all goes back to this cat I used to play with as a child. I went to pick her up one afternoon and she jumped up and scratched me down both sides of my face, and that was it. From then on I hated cats. But cats don't hate me. In fact they can sense my hate and distaste and they stalk/ follow me everywhere. Its horrible and outdoor cats are even worse. Clearly this kitty belonged to someone and she wanted to come in pretty badly but we shut the door thinking she wold go home... she didn't.

She sat outside all afternoon just a meowing away and once Jakob got home he took the kids outside to play with her again. At this point we decided that we could "keep" the kitty like Chad and Janet kept theirs. The owner would feed it and the kids would play with it when it was outside. So E named her Swishy and much to Daddy, E and Swishy's dismay, Swishy was to stay outside.

So she spent the night outside and sat at our back door all night. Around 10 the next morning she had gone over to the neighbors house who we assumed owned it.

Then I looked outside and saw some animal control vans. I asked what they were catching and the neighbors said "that CAT!" Poor Swishy, from what we understood the neighbor child had been "petting" Swishy and she bit her and she bit the mom. No doubt Swishy was beyond friendly and like any cat decided when she no longer wanted to be touched by biting, so they called animal control and took her to the "bad place."

We told E that Swishy had gone home and she was pretty upset. But Jakob was tempted to rescue her and set her free again. Poor Swishy. And that was our 48 hours as pet "owners."
