Christmas Day

Christmas morning was nice and slow. Kids were up and they got to go through their stocking while we waited for everyone to get up. Roo was our last one up and then the fun began.

Gift giving is my giving love language  it brings me so much joy to see people light up when I give them something.

The Christmas Spread

Baby naps are the best.

E was nice enough to let everyone help her with her geode. It was quite the team effort.

Papa and Gram cam eover and it was so nice to have them visit. We sat, talked and ate and it was blissful. They got us all matching Jam Jams and I couldn't have been happier! It was a wonderful Christmas and I can't believe it's all over.

Cocoa Bombs

Hot Coca Bombs where a big fad this year and I knew that I just had to try them. I learned quite a bit from the experience like

  1. Do two layers of chocolate so that they don't melt and fall apart when you handle them.
  2. Make sure you fill the cup allllll the way to the top of the circle or else the lip will be uneven and you'll have a hole when melting them to seal together.
  3. Always handle with a cupcake liner to avoid them melting.
  4. When sealing together run your finger over the seam to get a good seal.
  5. No matter how ugly they are on the inside they'll be pretty on the outside. If adding a drizzle make sure it isn't too hot or it'll melt the ball.
  6. When pouring the milk, pour on the seam if looking for a good "breaking open video and have your milk boiling.
  7. They are VERY sweet. One bomb is probably enough for 3-4 cups.
We made ours with several fun flavors like White chocolate or raspberry white chocolate or salted caramel. It was really fun!

Ready to make them (before we knew about tip number 7.

They were fun to make but a lot of work, perhaps theby will be fast next year now that I have some experience.

Thanksgiving

We headed off to Las Vegas for Thanksgiving. With Covid and all of the stress around getting sick, I almost cancelled this whole trip. I cannot even begin to tell you how happy I am that I didn't. I walked into Mom and Dad's hose and it felt like coming home. I actually started crying. It has been over a year since we had been back to Vegas and my soul missed it. Mom and I rocked out Thanksgiving dinner. It was a labor of LOVE!

Lots of labor ;)

Best part about Thanksgiving was that Chad and Janet came along too! It was so nice to spend time with them and to have some cousin bonding going on too!!!!!

Cheers!!

Violet is the second oldest cousin, and Roo is the youngest.

This years cake was a pumpkin cake with a browned butter buttercream and it was delicious!

Gosh darn it I love this crew!

Mom and Dad's home doesnt have enough room for all of us so mom got creative and put up two tents in her bedroom for the boy and girls. Roo got put in the closet and mom and dad slept in their bed. It was crazy but so dang cozy and SO dang fun!!

Okay, foods done, LET'S PLAY!

SUPER BOWL LIV!!!!!

One of my favorite seasons of the year is football. I count down the days until the season starts, we have all teh games on the calendar and we watch and cheer our boys on. I feel it's a bit more personal for us. We know Coach Reid and his family, some of the conditioning coaches, Dan Sorensen and his family were in our KC ward. Feeling that personal connection, you want them to succeed even more. So when we made it to the SUPER BOWL you bet we were THRILLED! We even got all dressed up for church!

I might have even played football during primary for singing time!

Chief Bear had to come to church too!

I may have even let the kids wear their jersey's to church.... and I absoluetly made Jakob change into his red shirt and yellow tie. PFFFT it's as if he forgot who he was married to!

Getting game day ready we had to make some noise makers!

And a couple of flags!

Nails ready!
 Food Ready!

TEAM READY!!!!

Faces painted!

LET'S GO CHIEEEEEEFSSSSSS!

Drawing some game day pictures!

Not going to lie guys, it was looking scary. Fourth quarter 12 minutes to go down by 10 and an interception was thrown. It was devastating. We got the ball back by some miracle at 7 minutes. And of course we are no ordinary team. 6:13 seconds. Touchdown to Kelce.... okay, feeling good thinking that they are just going to run the clock, good try but not enough....20-17 for the 49ers. We get a 3 and out!!!!!! Hold that line D! Woot!!! 2:46 left in teh game and Damien Williams get a touchdown!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 1:13 we get the ball back again and BAM!!! Damien Williams gets another TD 31-20 KC. 1:00 to go and Kendal Fuller gets the interception! KC WON THE FREAKING SUPER BOWL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There's Coach Reid hugging Tammy his wife! I screamed so loud I made the baby cry. He was crying I was crying it was incredible!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh so so so happy for them!

HOW BOUT THOSE CHIIIIIIIEEEEEEFFFFFFFSSSSS!!!!

E's picture. So cute!

Time to watch the parade. I really wanted to go but it was snowing and I was home with four kids. So we watched from home.

Tammy rocking the fur!

I spy Travis (one of the conditioning coaches and the sweetest guy!! Pretty sure that is Silas he's holding.)

So so proud of our Chiefs. What a season. Mahomes got injured, we had some nasty loses but good golly, it was a fun run! Loved how close the city became. What a great time to live in KC!! Go Chiefs Go!!
