Renn Fair

 This year we decided to take the kids to the Renaissance  Festival with us and I am so gosh darn glad we did! they had such a great time.

 After awhile we met up with the Jacobs family. Events are always better with friends.

Mama and Peanut matched and then, just as we were finishing our henna.... it started to pour rain. And I mean pour. E and I put our hands under an umbrella and we made the trek back to the car. It was a fun afternoon and the kids are so excited to go again next year. :)

Renaissance Festival

 Jakob and I love going to the renaissance festival each year. This year we once again elected to leave our tiny humans behind and invited some friends to join us. Their kids were amazing and it was a lot of fun sharing some of the magic with them! I think we may bring E and Duke next year. 

 

 Of course we had to watch the sword fighting and the jousting!

 Jakob tested his strength and this time he rang the bell all three times. He was pretty impressed with himself. Matt on the other hand didn't ring it once and he was so gosh darn embarrassed. Poor Matt!

Life of luxury! It was a beautiful day, the weather was perfect, the people watching was excellent and I can hardly wait until next year!

Renn Fair

This year we played things right and decided to go to the Renaissance Festival without children. WE hired a sitter for Duke and E and Daddy and I spent the day toegtehr doing our own thing and it was AWESOME!!!!

Sprout got to tag along since he still needs me to feed him. He is the best baby ever though and he hardly made a peep!

The jousting was a little bit sad this year. I don't think that they are supposed to break lances, it was more of a show. Scripted, fake fighting, and the horse wanted nothing to do with jousting and kept running away which was hilarious. 

Jakob did the Test of Strength and dingged the bell. The lady who was hosting the game called him farm boy as she gave him his sticker. I think that name may stick. It's very "Princess Bride."

We also got to hang out with Braden and Joanna which was a blast!!! Turkey Legs for everyone!! I wish I would have just let Sprout gnaw on mine, he would have loved it and it would have made a super cute picture.

They had an art contest and this was hands down my favorite!! So cute!

And that's a wrap for this year. I keep saying that we'll dress up and I think next year may be the year with zero children!! Always a favorite event that we look forward to! 

Kicking off OcTobler

OcTobler 1st was a busy one. We wanted to start off the month right and so it was jam packed full of activities. First item of business was heading off to Renn Fair again! This time we took the kiddos and I think they enjoyed it a bit more this year. E was a huge fan of the obstacle course. 

This was also the first time I lost E. She was beside me, I turned to make sure Daddy had Duke and I turned back and she was gone. It happened so fast and at Renn fair there are SO many people and who knows what protocol is in place for lost children. She had ended up wandering out of the childrens area we were in, she started crying and a saint of a woman noticed. She turned her around and started helping E look. She was only gone 3-5 minutes but I was terrified. She never wanders. I was so thankful for the woman who noticed her. I hugged her pretty tight for the rest of the day! 

Then we had more fun! We watched a few shows and Duke was pretty excited to examine all the tress we met. 

I totally need to make a few hats! Wire, trim, fabric of choice ribbons and hot glue! We had fun trying them on! E was one pretty princess!

Back to  the pirate ship! Then it was time to head home for naps. While the kids were good and enjoyed it, I think next year Jakob and I will pay a sitter and go for the entire day instead of buying a season pass. While it was nice, weekends just get busy in the fall, I think we are best off just getting it all out in one day. 

After naps Daddy and I headed out to go see Simple Plan. I totally forgot they were Canadian or else I would have brought my flag. It was a pretty fun event especially since it was free! 

While Jakob isn't really into concerts he was a good sport while I sang and danced. I love how much he loves me!

Then we left and tried a new to us food joint for burgers. It was rather yummy and I am excited to go back and try some of their ice cream. Here is Jakob sporting his track marks which are actually evil Oak Mite bits. Poor guy. It was a super fun day and the perfect way to start OcTobler!
