June Phone Favorites

June was such a rush and we had such a wonderful time. Here is a quick list of our phone favs!

Tastes like summer!

E captured this beauty of Mom Tobler and while she may possibly kill me for posting it, EVERY time I see it I burst out laughing.

Since it was so dang hot outside, taking the kids to the park wasn't really an option. So we had a few lunch dates at Burger King.

Twinners. I think these two are looking more and more alike as they get older. 

E is learning to ride her big girl bike (that I totally scored off of the curb!) She is doing really well!

This girl LOVES games. Her favorites are Sequence and Uno and she would play ALL. DAY. LONG if you would let her! And that wraps up June. We are going to have a very busy July and an even crazier August. BIG things happening in this Tobler home!

Saving her Penny's

At long last E was able to purchase her Coronation Elsa dress. E has been saving up for awhile and I am SO proud of her. She paid for this ENTIRELY on her own by doing chores around the house. And I'm not talking $5/ chore, the most she makes per chore is 25¢ and that is for BIG jobs. Usually she gets 10¢ per chore so she has been saving us for awhile! She is pretty excited for it to cool down so she can wear her new dress! Way to go E!!! I am so proud of you!!!

Father's Day

 Jakob got tickets from work to go and see a Sporting KC soccer game. We were pretty excited. Only problem was it was on a Sunday and it was Father's Day which made it essentially impossible to find a sitter for the kiddos or to find friends to join us. So thankfully we had four tickets so off we went. (P.s. it was Stake Conference (which as before mentioned I don't have a testimony of so technically we weren't missing church.)

 It was HOT, like sweat your bums off hot. So we were in the shade for most of it and it was fun bit going with kids is horrible. E complained the entire time and Duke was find for a bit but once he was done, he was done. Then the sun hit us and we called it quits. We'd really like to go back just sans children. 

Since we are pretty much the worst sinners ever skipping church and going to a soccer game Jakob decided that we needed to cool off with some ice cream. It wasn't your conventional Father's Day but for me it was nice to have a distraction from missing my Dad. I am so thankful for our fathers and all that they have done and continue to do for us and for Jakob and the incredible father that he is! I am so cery blessed to have such amazing men in my life!

A Quick Sprinkle

 I came home of Wednesday morning and Saturday Gretchen and I hosted a baby shower. Since it was Rebecca's third baby and since I was coming home so close to the party, we opted for cute but simple! So we hosted a "Sprinkle." I was in charge of the decor.

 Gretchen handled the food. Fruit, Chicken Salad and Cake. :) Yummmmmm!

It was a busy weekend so it was a small shower, but it made Becca feel special and that is what was important! Congrats on #3!!

Step Stool

Once you have made something, it becomes an addiction. Gretchen and I were perusing Pinterest and came across these step stools. SO cute, had the instructions right there, and were made from one board! So we shipped off to Home Depot. Armed with our $6 boards, we decided that we would cut the boards at home, and it was a good yet, tricky thing. Cutting wood with 5 kids it gets tricky to keep all of the measurements straight. We realized that we would need a table saw so I asked the neighbor across the street if he had one. He did and for a candy bar he cut the wood for us! It was a beautiful thing and a table saw is next on my wish list for tools! 

All of our wood cut, sanded and pocket holes drilled.

 

 This was a super fast project to put together!

 And done! I went with a grey wash for the steps and solid white on the sides and I LOVE it! The painting was the longest part! We use it all the time!

 I then decided that I needed a second one since the kiddos were stealing it to use elsewhere in the house! This time I went with a Dark Walnut top and I couldn't love it more!!! 

 The only issue with having step stools in the house, it means nothing is safe. Duke now climbs into all of the cupboard but really, these stools are just beyond functional, sturdy for me and the kiddos and $6 a piece!!!!!!! So in love! Now, what else should I build?

Wrapping Up Las Vegas

Monday was jam packed with fun! We started our morning off with a traditional walk. These two holding hands just about makes my heart burst with happiness!

Our walk went a little bit longer and we stopped by to see the owls. Can you see the one on the fence and the other down by the corner of the box?

Manfred wasn't very stealthy. 

Then we saw the horses. 

Duke loved them!

As a spur of the moment activity we headed down to Bellagio! It is hands down my favorite hotel and now that the kids are bigger was can explore a bit more. The garden this year was AMAZING! I think it has to be my favorite one yet! And best of all it wasn't SWARMING with people! 

Manny rocked the puppy backpack/leash and it was a TOTAL game changer! He still got to feel independent and I knew exactly where he was without holding him the entire time! It was AMAZING!!! So many parents asked where they could get one. I had to snicker to myself because I'm pretty sure Mom Tobler got it at a yard sale. Needless to say my life has been changed and the puppy came home with us.

E's favorite part was the seashell that opened and closed.

Then we took a peak at the chocolate fountain and looked at all of the cakes. Then it was time for naps.

After a quick noozie Pa came home and we were off to get In n Out and head down to Boulder City to spend time with the Tobler families there! It was great to visit with everyone!

Jackson brought some DQ for the kiddos! As if Jackson wasn't Duke favorite cousin already this pretty much sealed the deal.

E followed Mariah everywhere. I swear that girl has grown a foot since last summer! We stayed at the park until it was almost dark (way past bed time). It was so fun!

 Our last day was spent packing and doing laundry and moping about how fast the time went! Duke was being abit bothersome so I put him in the bedroom with some pots and let him go to town! He was a BIG fan!

 Once Pa got home E wanted to go take Clifford (Grammy's SUV) to the car wash. She was sooo excited! (We don't tend to wash Goldilocks very often...read:ever.)

I tossed the kiddos in bed and Mom and I visited. Before I knew it, it was time for our red eye flight. The kids did really well. I was prepared for the worst and they were amazing! Now just to wait for Daddy to get home from Houston tonight!! WE had such an amazing tie back home in Vegas! THANK YOU SO MUCH Mom and Dad for all of your support and love and for putting up with us for a month!!! We love you soooo much!!!
