The other day I had put the kids down early for their naps. They were cranky and Mama was done. They were still pretty noisy but I figured as long as they were in their beds, it was fine. About an hour passes and I am still hearing laughing, and the occasional thud. Then silence, which made me nervous as they were pretty giggly two minutes earlier and then came some tears. I went in to investigate.
When I walked in the first thing I noticed was E was wearing footy jammies. She never wears footie jammies so I asked her what was going on. She responded with "Mama, you told me that I couldn't come out of bed, and so I peed my bed, but Mama don't worry I cleaned it all up!" with a smile on her face she pointed to a pile on the floor. I looked her bed and she had in fact stripped her bed and remade it without a sheet. Her jammies, blanket and sheet were all wadded up in a pile by the door. You should also know that it has been almost a year since she has had an accident and she is very aware that she is allowed to leave her room to go potty if she needs to. But I wasn't angry, I was actually rather impressed with her. I then asked why she was crying. She said she couldn't get the snap done up on her jammies. I snapped her jammies, put a sheet on her bed and tucked her in for nap time.
I then went to turn my head to check Duke and I said "Wait?! Where did your clothes go!" I had walked past his bed several times but was so focused on E that I hadn't even noticed that Duke was laying in his bed butt naked, clothes and diaper on the floor and he too had peed the bed. It was hilarious. How could Inot have noticed? So we got him up, stripped his bed, made it, got him dressed and tucked in.
Two kids, two peed beds, lesson learned.... check on them more often. It was rather entertaining. Thank heavens my laundry machine will be fixed tomorrow, (we have a collapsed pipe) this Mama has a lot of laundry to do! Mom Life
