Baby Mozart

This was Ethnie's first time playing the piano. I look forward to all of her piano recitals in the future but for now just plunking away is he sweetest music I've ever heard.

Memorial Day

 Memorial Day was so much fun! It was filled with lot of "Mom & Me" activities. It feels so nice to get back into the swing of things! I have dearly missed our visits/ activities that used to take place four days a week. We started out the day with the hunt at Savers. Most everything was 50% off so we went in search of a base dress for Princess Belle. We had no such luck however we did get a few pair of shoes and a lot of children's books. (I'll admit I have a slight addiction to books as of late.)

We then headed up Mount Charleston to hike. I haven't been hiking in over a year! It was so nice to dust off my hiking shoes and smell the fresh mountain air! It was also Ethnie's first adventure in the wilderness.

She did such a good job! She fell asleep on the way up the hill. Mom graciously offered to switch out and carry her. Yes I realize it is sad that 37 ;) year old Mom Tobler is in better shape than me at 22 years old. Seriously! I had better start getting my but in gear!

 We got quiet a ways up and then decided that rock scrambling with a baby probably wasn't the safest idea. So we stopped for a quick snack and headed back down the hill.

 On the way down Ethnie was just chattering away, telling us about all of the neat things she saw, well that's what we'd like to think anyways. She definitely earned her hiking shoes. I see many more adventures in her future!

 We were then treated to Pin Kaow for Jakob's graduation dinner. It was absolutely delicious! My mouth is watering just thinking about it. May I draw your attention to the pile of plates Jakob was finishing off. Not one morsel was left behind! 

We finished the evening off with dessert at Yougurtland. Yummy. Peanut was really interested in what was in Daddy's cup. She settled for a spoon in each hand instead. It was a wonderful memorial day! Thank you so much to Mom and Dad for such a special evening!

Big Girl!

Ethnie's moved into her big girl tub! (Thank you Adam & Julie for the tub!) She was just as happy as could be and loved splashing and kicking her feet. I think we have a little fish!

3 Months

Three months.... three months?! Good gravy, I'm at a stage now where things are simply a blur. It feels like it was just yesterday when I found out I was expecting and now here we are with a little 3 month old baby. Yes, that is correct, baby. Our little girl is no longer an infant. Crazy! I may or may not have gone a little crazy taking pictures. Heck, can you ever have too many pictures of a baby? I don't think so!

• Height: 24inches 
• Weight: 15lbs (+/-)
• Head Circumference: 42 cm 
• Nicknames: Peanut, Sweet Cheeks, Sugar. Great-Grandma Palmer calls her Snookums, which I find really neat because my Grandmother always called me Baby Snooks.

• She's officially into 3-6 month outfits. There are still a few outfits I can squeeze her into but for the most part she's outgrown 0-3m.
• I think she's starting to laugh but I haven't had an official belly giggle laugh yet. I'm looking forward to that. 
• She really enjoys her Bumbo! She likes to be looking around at everyone.
• Standing is going really well. She's got holding her head up down to a science now. If I lean her up against my legs she'll lift her head up so she's sitting. 

• Sleeping has been a challenge this month. Ethnie got sick and so I started putting her in bed with us again, even though I knew better. Then for a while she wouldn't sleep unless she was being held which made nap time a chore. Thankfully I think we've gotten it sorted out again. She's now back in her cradle! This month we're going to try to buckle down on a schedule. 
• Right now she goes to bed at 8 p.m. and wakes up at 4 a.m. to eat and goes right back to sleep until about 6 - 6:30 a.m. I'm loving this!
• She has officially found her hands and she knows how to use them. Her little brow gets furrowed as she tries to make them work. She's gotten grabbing things down but she doesn't hold onto them for long. She loves her green ball rattle and grabbing onto Mommy's hair!
• She still seems to be favoring her left hand. We've been working hard on her right though. I suppose time will tell. 

• She decided last Saturday that she no longer wanted to take a bottle. Granted I hadn't bottle fed her in 2 weeks. She knew what she wanted and she was putting up a fight. Thankfully Grandma is a trooper and finally got her to take it. I'll be making sure she takes a bottle AT LEAST once a day for the next week. It makes life difficult when you're working and you're baby is being stubborn. :)
• She took her soother a few times this month. The past four days she's taken it several times! I'd much rather a soother than her thumb!! 

• She's only colicy some evenings mostly when we're not home. I honestly think she doesn't like people. :). I always say how wonderful she is and then when we get in front of anyone she jut decides to bawl her little eyes out. It's hard, but I haven't cried at all this month! I'm rather excited about that!
• She's still a Momma's Girl and I'm secretly loving it. It has both advantages and disadvantages but in the grand scheme of things it makes me happy to know that she wants her Mommy. 

• She's still not very vocal. She very rarely coos but I love hearing her little voice.

• She loves to read!! She likes looking at the pictures and is learning to turn the pages by herself. She's gotten really good at this the past week.
• She {loves} having her diaper changed. You lay her down on her changing table and she's all smiles from start to finish. 
• We have moved bath time from the kitchen sink to a baby bath tub. She {loves} splashing around all by herself. 

 

(Oh, you mean you want me to LOOK at the camera WITHOUT my hands in my mouth? Yeah, Right!)

• We have a Slobber Queen, Blowout Babe and a Puking Princess on our hands. We try not to be caught without a burpie near by. We've had to change everyone's outfits on a few occasions. 

 I saved my favorite picture for last. These are her "flirting eyes." Which is both adorable and terrifying. If she's a flirt now... we're in BIG trouble. We are so lucky to have such a precious little girl in our lives. She fills our home with smiles, laughter, love and the occasional stinky diaper. I can't imagine life without her! Mama & Daddy sure do love you Ethnie Lauren!

Four Generations

 I feel so blessed for Ethnie to have not one but two Great-Grandmothers! Grandma Palmer (Jakob's, Mom's, Mom) has been visiting for the past week now. It was an excellent opportunity for us to get some pictures of Ethnie and her Great-Grandmother of 89 years old!

I know I am not an official "Palmer"but they let me play pretend. This just wouldn't be the same with Jakob.

 I had to explain to Great-Grandma what it means when someone "rocks" something. Here's Peanut and Great-Grandma "rocking" their shades. 

We are so blessed to have such wonderful women in our lives! They are such wonderful examples for me to follow. I am anxiously looking forward to taking some pictures of four generations with my side of the family in Canada.

Family Dinners

 With Great-Grandma Palmer in town there have been a few family gatherings. I love it when the family gets together it always means great company and delicious food. On Friday night we had shrimp boil over at Grandma & Grandpa's. Divine!

 On Sunday we went over to Uncle Lorin & Aunt Nancy's. There were a variety of salads! It tasted like summer! We also got to see the eclipse through the telescope. Pretty neat! 

 Everyone was pretty interested in Nancy's necklace :)

As per usual Buddy is pretty excited to see Dad. :)

He wasn't to excited to see Peanut and Me. Poor Buddy. Thank you to both Mom & Dad and the Palmers for having us over! We always have a good time!!

Mail Days

We're off to get the mail!! Since Jakob is now driving my car almost everyday (his is on it's death bed) Peanut and I don't get out much. We rather enjoy getting the mail especially now that she has a pretty new hat! What a cutie!

 On Wednesday, Mom Tobler and Gramma Palmer kidnapped Ethnie and I for a day full of fun! We went shopping and came home to take the first swim of the year! I was super excited to get Ethnie in her brand new swimming suit and into the 95°F water! 

 

She really seemed to enjoy it! She wanted just to stay sitting in the warm water but we had some pictures to take!

 We had had a long day of running around and shopping. Ethnie only took one hour log nap so needless to say... she was pretty cranky. She really enjoyed gliding around in the water though. She was so relaxed. 

 Maybe a little too relaxed. She fell asleep in Grandma's arms. She was OUT!

Gramma Palmer even got in the pool... I mean all the way in. I didn't get a picture you'll have to check Mom's blog for that! Way to go Gramma!  It was a wonderful day! It was so nice to get out of the house! I see many more days by the pool in our future!!
