Father's Day

Father's Day is a tough one for me. I was laying in my bed Father's Day morning looking for a good picture of my Daddy to post and i just started bawling. Tears of longing but mostly tears of gratitude. i am so thankful for the choices that I made to allow my father to be such an important part of my life and to be able to share with him so much in such a short amount of time. My Dad got to not only meet but love my husband like a son. He got to see me get married in the temple. He got to meet two of my children and my heart aches for my brothers who won't get to experience the same things. My children have memories of their Opa and it's because he was simply the best. I am beyond grateful for this man.

But I'm also grateful because Heavenly Father didn't just give me one Dad, he gave me two, because he knew I would need it. Just sitting here typing this post has me all teary eyed when I think about how blessed I am to have Dad Tobler. Dad is always there with love, support, kindness, and friendship. We don't always see eye to eye and I love that about our relationship because it makes it real. While I am thankful for the example he sets for my husband, and I know he technically belongs to Jakob, he's mine too and I can't express how much I love him.

And then there is this guy who not only excels at being a husband, he is such an incredible father. I don't think I have ever heard Jakob complain about being a Dad, it is one of his greatest joys and he loves our kids fiercely. Jakob is always there for chats with E, to wrestle with Duke and to play hoops with Sprout. He's the one to get up at night, to do tub time and to make the kiddos food when he's home. He's the one that lets them stay up late so he can spend more time with them. He's the one who buys board game so they can hang out together. He's the one who has no intention of making holidays a big deal but is there enjoying all the magic encouraging, supporting and cheering us on with a smile. He is our world and we are so thankful for him!

Since we were still in Vegas for Father's Day, the kids made up little questionnaires to mail to him. I just love their answers!! Sprout was very serious about getting to write on his too.

It was a good father's day. Hofully we will get to celebrate it with Jakob next year.

Father's Day

I came back home and it was time to celebrate Father's Day!! I was SO glad that we got to be in Vegas to be with Pa!!

Father's Day is a tough one for me but I know that only means that I was raised by one of the greatest Father's in the world. I was so blessed to get to have him for as long as I did, and while I miss him dearly I feel him close often. Happy Father's Day Daddy!

I was missing this guy too! I am often amazed by how lucky I am. Jakob is an incredible father who loves his children unconditionally. Their Daddy is one of their best friends. Jakob loves to wrestle and tease. He plays games and snuggles. He reads books and he comforts. He won't go anywhere near loose teeth, but will happily change all the stinky bums and get up in the middle of the night. This guy is amazing!

And we love our Pa! The kids love to Skype and talk with him when we are so far away. They get so excited when he comes home from work or when it's the weekend because Pa gets to be with them all day! Pa plays and colors the best snowmen. He gives them yummy yummy treats and the kids go on fun adventures. He plays fun songs and reads stories. He tickles and he snuggles and he does it all!

Not only his he an amazing Pa, he is the best father. From the moment I joined the family, Pa has welcomed me with open arms. I always feel like I can call him to chat or for words of wisdom and encouragement. I am so blessed to have such a wonderful role model in our lives and I am grateful for the father that raised Jakob to be such an incredible man!

As Pa's Fathers Day gift we decided to make some accessories for his American themed bathroom.

30 minutes later! Voila! I love the little knobs. These will be used as towel hangers.

We sure do love all of the amazing men in our lives! Happy Father's Day!

Father's Day

Happy Father's Day to this stud muffin right here! Jakob is such an incredible husband and father, we truly hit the jackpot!

He works so hard to provide for our family and he never complains. After long days he comes home with a smile and first thing he does is asks me what he can do to make my day better. Most days he doesn't even have to ask, he sees a need and jumps right in. E loves when Daddy is home. Those two get along great. Jakob is currently teaching E how to play chess and E just loves having her Daddy all to herself.

Jakob is the best boy Dad! He makes sound effects, wrestles, play's GI Joes and he isn't afraid to let the kids get dirty. Duke adores his Daddy!! When Jakob comes home Duke comes to the door running full tilt!

Daddy is also a great snuggler! He is a good listener and our safe place. He makes our house a home and we are so blessed to call him ours!! Happy Father's Day Jakob. We sure do love you!!

(Pictures that E and Duke drew for Daddy. E's is a bit creepy.)

Father's Day

Jakob got tickets from work to go and see a Sporting KC soccer game. We were pretty excited. Only problem was it was on a Sunday and it was Father's Day which made it essentially impossible to find a sitter for the kiddos or to find friends to join us. So thankfully we had four tickets so off we went. (P.s. it was Stake Conference (which as before mentioned I don't have a testimony of so technically we weren't missing church.)

It was HOT, like sweat your bums off hot. So we were in the shade for most of it and it was fun bit going with kids is horrible. E complained the entire time and Duke was find for a bit but once he was done, he was done. Then the sun hit us and we called it quits. We'd really like to go back just sans children.

Since we are pretty much the worst sinners ever skipping church and going to a soccer game Jakob decided that we needed to cool off with some ice cream. It wasn't your conventional Father's Day but for me it was nice to have a distraction from missing my Dad. I am so thankful for our fathers and all that they have done and continue to do for us and for Jakob and the incredible father that he is! I am so cery blessed to have such amazing men in my life!

Father's Day

Life is busy. With the move and company we kept Father's Day pretty low key. Since we now have a grill I got Jakob a few necessities for barbequing.

We also got him and little man matching ties. I love it when we all match!

Ethnie wrote Daddy a little card. I love her little answers.

 We sent one to Pa...

... and Opa too. Jakob and I have been so blessed with such wonderful Fathers who are such amazing examples and supports to us!

I am so thankful for this Daddy and I couldn't imagine any man who would be better at it. Jakob is always playing, tickling, dancing, chasing, bathing, feeding and helping. He works so hard to make my life as a stay at home mom easier and I am so thankful for him. We are so blessed to call you ours! Happy Fathers Day!

Pa's Day

For actual Father's Day we spoiled Pa. Gramma made hootenanny's and Ethnie helped set the table.

Then it was time for presents. Ethnie was sooo excited to give Pa his gifts!

Ethnie picked these shoes out for Pa all on her own. We were walking down the aisle looking for shoes for Duke when Peanut turned around and pointed at the sandals that Pa likes and shouted "Pa!" I looked over and smiled. the perfect present. I grabbed some red ones (Pa's favorite color) and put them in the cart. E quickly shook her head and said "no Ma!" ran over and grabbed some blue ones "Buu for Pa." (blue is her favorite color) it was precious.

Mom asked Dad what he wanted for dinner and he said sloppy joes. It made me smile. Nothing but the best for Dad. It was a wonderful Father's Day even though we were missing our Daddy. We got to celebrate Ethnie's favorite person. We love you Dad! Happy Father's Day!

Father's Day

Since Daddy is far away in Texas right now I thought it would be nice to send him a care package to make him feel extra special. It is hard for him to be away from his little people. I started out with the box. I lined it with blue paper. It was totally strange not having my cricket cutter so everything was free hand. It says sending our love from Nevada to Texas. I then wrote a letter for Daddy. Letters are our thing, we've been writing them to each other ever since we got together.

I then layed a very wiggly Duke down and traced around him to send Daddy a hug. Ethnie wasn't going to lay down no way no how so I traced Elmo. He was much more cooperative.

Since we're on a budget Mom reined me in. I have much larger visions for this frame but the smaller one was more practical and Mom had a frame that would work on hand. I went and bought a paint pen (hello new addiction!) and wrote out the quote in my best attempt at children's writing. I then sealed it all with a clear coat. I love this quote!

Its ready to ship to Daddy. He was so excited he opened it before Fathers Day. I hope it made his day more special. We are so blessed to have such a wonderful Daddy in our home who laughs, plays, wrestles, cuddles, watches movies, dances, tickles, fixes boo boos, changes bums and loves us to the moon and back! I could not have asked for a better husband or father for our children. He is the best. Happy Father's Day Handsome!!

Father's Day

I can hardly believe that it's Jakobs second Father's Day. Time is zooming by and you can tell that Jakob is falling in love with Ethnie a little more every day. There is nothing more attractive that seeing Jakob play with Peanut. He is such a wonderful Daddy and Ethnie and I are so very blessed to call him ours.

We have been so very blessed to have such wonderful fathers in our lives. Here's to our Dad's: Thank you for your wisdom and guidance. For sharing your testimonies of our Savior and leading by example. Thank you for not only being Father's but friends.

Most importantly thank you for being such wonderful grandparents. Whether you are near or far, Ethnie knows how much she is loved and she is always excited to see you. It fills my heart with joy to see how happy she is to see Opa on Skype and how she runs into Grandpa's arms every time she sees him.

Here are some reasons why Ethnie loves Opa.

& why she loves Grandpa.

My schedule has been rather full this past week so Jakob didn't get a Father's Day week. I think we'll save all of the love for Valentines. Peanut did get him some Peanut M&M's though.

She was pretty egar to share them with Daddy.

We also made Daddy an exploding card full of pictures of him and Ethnie.

Happy Father's Day my love. Thank you for being so incredible Your girls love you and I know our little man is going to be your best buddy!
