Busy

I promise we are here alive and well. My mother has been here for the past two weeks and we've just been busy. The sad thing is I have only taken a few pictures of all our adventures! I've got to get better at capturing the moment.

We're off to California in 4 days for my cousins wedding. I'm so excited to see all of the family. Almost everyone will be there! Hopefully I'll be able to get a legitimate post done before we leave. Hope you all are enjoying your summer!!

Happy Birfday!

It was Jakob's 24th birthday on Sunday (man he's getting old). This is his first birthday in the USA in the last 4 years (every other year he was in Canada) so this year he went all out.

He started off at 9:30 a.m. paint balling with the boys. Here he is with Ryan a little bit tattered and torn, it was hot out.

Jakob is playing aliens and humans in which he's the alien. The only way he can get out is if someone hits him in the mask.

Can you see the welts on his body? Mom Tobler numbered them with a sharpie. He had a grand total of 36 covering him from head to toe.

The boys then went to pick up their wives and we had a poolside barbeque.

Ryan enjoying a big bite of hotdog. Yummy yummy. All the burgers were gone in a matter of minutes. If there is one thing Toblers do right... it's food.

Dad with his cup. These cups were amazing. A little on the pricey side however but I loved them. You peel the sticker off the front and write your name on them with your fingernail. No sharpie necessary. Fabulous!

Mom Tobler made a beautiful cake! Jakob loves yellow cake. What a spoiled boy.

I didn't have any but from the looks of it.... It was good. :)

The brave few of us went swimming. The pool was a little bit chilly but if felt nice once you took that initial plunge.

Time for presents. Can you guess what it is?

It's a 22 conversion kit for Jakob's Sig Sauer P226. This way it is much cheaper to shoot for fun. Jakob then had family game night until 12 a.m. Let me tell you that boy can party hard. I was spent and chickened out at 9:30.

We had such a wonderful time and are so thankful to all of those who were able to make it. Jakob had such a great time. We are so blessed to have such amazing friends and family to be able to share such great memories with. We love you all. Happy birthday my love, here's to a year full of adventure and excitement.

Girls Camp!

WARNING: This is a picture filled post. This time I actually brought my own camera and over the course of 5 days took over 800 photos. If you dare read on may I suggest grabbing a snack or beverage of choice.

Welcome to Camp Kolob. This is the first year that the Red Rock stake had been to Kolob. It was beautiful and the week was packed full of excitement!

Here are our beautiful girls. We had 19 girls in our camp (not including our YCL'S) which was significantly smaller than the 40 some girls Alta Vista had. Our girls were simply AMAZING however! I wish that words would do them justice. Throughout the 5 days (for some 6) the girls were in the wilderness, not once did I hear a single one of them complain. They didn't whine when we woke them up, or asked them to clean. We called for them and they came as fast as they could. They would continually amaze me as they asked. "Sister Tobler, what do you need done? How can we serve?" I stood in awe. I only wish you were there to witness the spirit that come from being at girls camp and NO DRAMA! Simply heavenly. For all of our girls who are reading this I want you to know how proud I am of you! I am so thankful for all that you did at camp and I know that your Father in Heaven loves you!

Don't get me wrong.... we had fun too!

Our theme this year was "The Amazing Race" and each ward (group) was a country. As you can probably guess we were Italy! Above are some lights that Kathy hung up! They were adorable and gave our camp that extra something! So cute!

A huge shout out to Ann!! Holy Moses, that woman has talent. She made and painted these beautiful cut out posters and they were exquisite. Thank you so much Ann!! Here are the leaders posing.

One of my main concerns for camp was the mosquitoes! I hate mosquitoes! When I get bit they get BIG and just the thought was stressing me out before camp. So I called around Las Vegas to see if anyone had a net. NO, not even children's stores carried the "princess" like ones. Vegas doesn't have mosquitoes but still one would think a camping store would carry them. Bass Pro did but for the tune of $60. I almost fainted. So... to the internet I went. I found mine for a whopping $7 with free shipping and begged them to ship it A.S.A.P because I was leaving in 4 days. It arrived and it was perfect. I slept sound at night!

This is Elise the Guinea Pig. I call her that because she was the first girl at camp to attempt the zip line. At first the leader in charge had her tied to herself which would have pulled her clear off of the platform. Needless to say, we were all a little skeptical of the structural integrity of the zip line. Elise however was fearless. She got a good run a flew off of that platform no problem. What a brave sole!

Then these girls had to run to launch her in the air. It was a unique principle however the girls had a ton of fun flying through the air.

I taught the girls to knit. Let me tell you it was harder than anticipated. I had learned 3 day before camp had started. Knitting is such a "one on one" learning exercise so teaching a group of 20 was new. Some caught on right away and others threw in the towel. Some even opted to crochet.

Taylor and Amy are pretty princesses. Clearly they did not catch the knitting vision. I love them.

The mother daughter shots. My some of my favorite photos. I don't know what it is, perhaps because I remember having my mother at girls camp once upon a time. Mother- daughter pictures just hold a special place in my heart.

I had the 4th year girls all to myself for 5 hours on Thursday. We had a blast! Chloe made natural facials for us. This is Maddy (Chloe's sister) putting on her mask. This picture makes me laugh every time I see it. Priceless.

Here we all are before our trip to the showers. Kolob had flushing toilets, running taps and warm showers. Spoiled we were however the toilets were continually clogged and the line was LOOONG, by the end of camp most of us were using the outhouse right beside camp. The showers however were divine!!

It rained in bursts all day. One minute it was sunny and the next BAM thunder and rain and sometimes hail. This is Jerolyn chilling on the hill watching the rain fall.

Some straight shooting. Aiming was hard for me. I could get a nice a powerful shot but rarely in the same place twice.

This is Chauntey. Talk about adorable! This is my favorite picture of the whole week. Here's this tiny girl with this massive bow just beaming! Like I said, adorable!

There was also certification. Yes, this is and emergency shelter! Probably not livable unless absolutely necessary.

The girls also went rappelling.

The fearless leaders. What an amazing group of women. They are all so organized and prepared. It was such a blessing to work with them!

Of course it was Canada Day on the First of July so I hung a flag. The girls thought this was rather humorous.

Our last day was full of stake games to see who would win the amazing race.

It was a wonderful camp and I am sad that it is over. I really didn't want to leave the girls. If we could have continued camp in the comfort of my home with my handsome husband then I would have been complete. That's a wrap for this years adventures. Until next time... *Ciao Bella*

Happy 4th!

Like last year Jakob and I were in the Summerlin Parade. As per usual we had a ton of fun. I know I say it all of the time but I honestly have one of the greatest jobs ever! I get to dress up and play with children all day. We like to have fun and this year was no exception.

Can you guess which one is Jakob? He was only a foot and a half taller than Spiderman (Chris) and Superman (Dustin).

Jakob was Captain America. He said he was two weeks shy of fame. As most know the "Captain America" movie hits theaters on July 22nd (two weeks). Regardless Jakob was pretty excited to be the Captain! He was given the choice of two costumes and he chose both. He was one muscly man and he had no problem hamming it up for the crowd!

While waiting for the parade to start a little boy ran up to Jakob and Jakob asked him who would win in a fight Captain America or Spiderman? The little boy thought about it for a second and replied with a firm "Spiderman!" A little deflated Jakob laughed and said "Oh well." A few minutes later the little boy returned and said "Don't worry Captain America! You can have a rematch!!" Jakob smiled and asked him who would win the rematch? The little boy shrugged and said "Spiderman!"

I stole this picture from Mom Tobler. She gets full credit. I think she missed her far away grand children! I love this photo though. The little boy watching the troops with wonder. One thing I must say I do love about this country is the full support of it's troops. I saw a bumper sticker in Canada once and several more times since I have moved to the States that said "If you're not willing to stand behind our troops feel free to stand in front of them."

Can you guess who I am? It's a little difficult without my entourage!

I was Wendy from Peter Pan! It was a lot of fun and something I have never done before which makes for quite the adventure! Above we have Smee (Brandon), Hook (Phillip), Peter (Matt) & myself.

These boys were just precious! I loved their costumes and even through the humidity (yes humidity in Vegas! Boo!!) and heat they were troopers!

This year I was on a microphone which is a first for me. It was a little strange because it would have made more sense for Pan to be on the mike but it was a lot of fun! Plus can you see this ship that they made? It was amazing!! I didn't get a picture of the crocodile but it was exquisite!

After the parade we headed back to Mom and Dad Toblers for naps, haircuts and then we headed over to the neighbors for a delicious dinner!

I was a wonderful fourth of July! We had so much fun! Thank you to all of you who made it special for us! I am very thankful for this country and all of the blessings that come from living in it.
