That smile!!!!
What a masterpiece Sprout!

On this episode of guess what came out of Duke's ear. Gross.

So one day E drew this picture and she showed it to Oma while they were Skyping. The conversation went like this:
Oma: E you should mail me that picture so I can put it on my fridge.
E: I can mail it to you, but it will cost you $1000 dollars.
Oma: 1,000 dollars!!!!! Are you crazy
E: It's for my college fund.
Oma: I can't afford $1000!
E: This is an original Oma.
Oma: What about a copy?
(Mama chimes in)
E: I can get you a copy for $500. Or a digital print for $200.

I laughed so hard I cried. She didn't have any help from me until the copy part and it was hilarious. she is 100% her Father's child. Such a quick month! These next few months are going to just fly!

Wild One

The theme for Sprout's party was simple, and that it was. We cleaned out the garage and set up tables in there to keep the chaos out of the house. I made little triangle mountain shelves which turned out pretty cute!

We made up a taco bar which was a lot of cooking but straight forward and obviously delicious!

The kids played outside, and I painted faces. then we had a pinata, which was a mountain. The easiest pinata ever!

Sprout was not happy about giving up the bat!

Duke's knee was soar so I let him wear pj's. I didn't' even care. I am becoming that kind of mom now.

Sprout and his cake!

Mama and Sprout!

I need Anna to just follow me around everywhere. She got these cute candid shots and I love them!

And that's a wrap. It was perfect my my one year old who didn't know what was going on. We had friends, food and laughs and that was all I could have asked for. Happy birthday my wild one! Climb every mountain my boy! You are so loved!

Mountian Cake

It's cake time for this little man.

This cake pushed me in so many different ways. I wanted to do fondant. My first batch came out lumpy. My second batch I burnt. I went to the store to get a third batch and that batch turned out horribly as well and I ended up just crying. I was SO annoyed. So I spoke to my neighbor Michelle and she suggested simple buttercream. Buttercream is terrifying. I have never been great at clean lines and frosting. I felt so out of my comfort zone but I was OVER fondant so I started.

Is it my favorite cake, no. Is it what I imagined, no. However even with all of it's quirks I am still very pleased with how it turned out. It is a cake in it's own category, and I was leased with the rustic charm of it all.

Once I put the chocolate tree's on the cake I was happy. They really added a lot and just finalized my vision.

I decided not to use a cake topper and I was loving the simplicity of just the trees and chocolate rocks.

in the end I was happy and I was put outside of my comfort zone. What an adventure. Can't wait to party tomorrow!

Gala

I love Galas. I love getting dressed up, going on a hot date and hanging with fun people! This Gala was for a school academy and it was blue themed.

We had a really fun group! I loved meeting Emily and her fiance (Left) and Kevin and Richard (on either side of me) are always fun to hang out with.

Kevin Richard and Jakob.

We had a great night, dancing and visiting. I went to go to the restroom and I came back and all of a sudden I realized something was wrong. Kevin and Jimmy had gotten into a fight (over what we don't know) and punches were thrown. After that things got very dramatic very quickly and it was quite the fiasco. Not that I don't enjoy these people or respect their way of life but I am SO grateful that Jakob and I don't drink. That we were both sober and level headed. Despite the drama, it was a very fun evening!
