August Phone Favorites

For our 6th anniversary Jakob took me to a book clearance. The place was packed and while to books were cheap, the prices still didn't beat thrifts stores. I did walk away with two Bill Peet books which I thought was a win! Duke had a blast running around!

I just {love} our ward. Jakob and I have been so blessed with such wonderful ward families! It takes a village to raise a child and our ward is so wonderful about just inviting your child to come and sit with you especially when there is a crying baby and they need help. One Sunday we had 4 under 4 sitting with us. We were busy but it was fun!

Totally dangerous but I thought it was funny so naturally I told him to smile and then I promptly put the q-tips on the top shelf.

This is hands down the most interactive ward I have ever been too. We have Music Makers on Monday, Play groups twice at week at someone's house or at a park, and Letter groups on Thursdays. We are a busy bunch and it is so much fun to get together with other Mom's and let the kids play! Duke and E especially liked the snow cone date!

We went to Home Depot one day and E told me I couldn't go in because it was "Daddy's Store." I informed her that Mommy's could go in too and she said that there were no girls in the store. It made me laugh, I was sure to point out and count the 7 women that we saw.

Summer here is hot and humid and we decided that we wanted a little pool again. We went to the store to get one and realized that it totally wouldn't fit in the trunk. E lit up and said "What if E held the pool?!" Brilliant! She was an excellent pool holder!

I got this little Radio Flyer waggon at Savers and the kids just love it! Duke thinks it's just his size.

What do you do when you have too many treasures to carry? Why kick it old school and use your skirt of course! I especially love the panties hanging out!

Duke's first time on a carousel, he was so excited but E refused to sit on a horse and I couldn't leave just one unsupervised....

So we rocked the spinning tea cup! It was fun!

Duke's favorite game for a few days was playing ghost. He would just get covered in his blanket and then charge towards be totally blind.

While playing with play doh Anna got sick and threw up. I think E has been playing with her Daddy a lot.

I was so sad when we pulled out E's go to shrug and it was a bit too small. Aunt Nancy and Lars bought this shrug when I was preggo with E. She has worn it since she was nine months old with the sleeves.

E woke up one morning and just asked for love, so we just hugged for 20 minutes. It was so nice just to snuggle with my girl!

E was cleaning Woody's teeth "Just like a Dentist like Uncle  Jeff!"

It was Daddy's birthday and we have decided to make that day his every year where we have his favorite meal and talk about fun stories of him to just keep him alive a little more in our family. He liked a lot of food but we decided that stake and mashed potatoes were going to be his favorites. While I had this vision about talking with E and getting her to share her favorite story of Opa, it just didn't happen. I feel like she's forgetting him and while I know that isn't true because she notices when I wear his watch or his slippers, it was just hard. Some days are worse than others, some days I just can't stop crying and others I'm totally fine. I can feel him close and I miss him more that I can express. So grateful that families are forever!

E raan up to me one afternoon and said "Mom! Quick!! What color are my eyes?!" I couldn't help but laugh. She was so concerned. I'd have to go with green. they are unique that is for sure!

As mentioned before, E has started to draw things. Here is a whale! I just love our little doodle pad. She is getting pretty good! So strange to see August come and go! Here's to September and some *crossing fingers* hopefully cooler days! I am so ready for fall! The smells, the colors, the sweaters, boots and cozy blankets!

Happiness Is...

...Hearing this messy faced boy laugh!

Looking at these pictures you can almost hear it!

Early morning Nurf Gun fights with Daddy!

 Horsey Rides.

Getting measured and wondering every. single. day. where the time goes?

 When did you grow up?

When did you become this funny little girl instead of my little baby?

 Time just needs to freeze!

And lastly, happiness is finding a hidden message after two weeks of it just waiting there. Gosh I love my husband. He makes me smile and I am so blessed to have these happy moments and so many more in my life!

Zoo Day!

Jakob and I have really been trying to do something fun every Saturday. I asked E where she wanted to go and she said the ZOO! So off we went. It was much busier than when we went with Opa but we had fun!

Went spent most of our time waiting for the train, which broke down, and then waiting for the tram... which was super full. The kids really didn't mind. E loves the bus and I brought lots of snacks!

 Finally some animals!

E was ready for a nap!

Guess who we bumped into?? I think E was so shocked that she didn't know what to do! She just smiled and when she was done that was all she could talk about. I would love to take her to Disney, she would love seeing all the princesses!

Penguins!!!!! E was a bit scared of them but she was also excited that they were like Peso from Octonauts.

Then we hit up the carousel before we went home. Duke got to ride a horse and he was thrilled!!

E wasn't as excited. It was such a fun day! I love family adventures!

A Night atthe Museum

Jakob's company is a lot of fun! They buy tables as black tie gala's and we get to go have a wonderful dinner, some entertainment, and be grown ups with out tiny humans courtesy of the company. For the first time in a long time I felt I had nothing to wear and I was rather nervous about it.

We went to a "Night at the Museum" and we got to explore a few of the exhibits. Dinner was delicious too.

There was a show featuring very bendy people. I think Vegas has tainted our views on entertainment. This was wonderful but we were a bit disappointed when he was only balancing on a stick and not on a rotating ball on top of another human. :)

The best part though was dressing up and spending a night with my honey.

Park Days

I love days at the park and I double love finding new fun parks to play at. Jakob told me there was a lake less than a mile away from our house and Saturday afternoon we headed out to explore. I seriously cannot get enough of Duke in his hat! Such a hunk!

E is learning ow to pump her legs on the swing. She's getting pretty good at it!

Of course we had to stick our hands in the lake.
It was such a fun outing. I {love} the weekends with Jakob home!
