Flying Kites & Chalk

People often ask what one's favorite season is and I would very honestly have to say all of them. I love summer time. The vacations, time spent with family, days spent at the pool and picking all of the fruit. I LOVE FALL. The bulky sweaters, apple cider, pumpkin patches, sunflower fields and Halloween. I love winter. The SNOW, the holidays, the traditions, snuggling up under all of the blankets. And I love spring. The flowers, the need to be outside 24/7, the feeling of purification, NO BUGS!!! spring time just makes me wanted to spend every day outside creating magical memories so that is exactly what we did.

The wind was blowing so we spent the afternoon at the church flying kites and it was PERFECTION!!!!

That afternoon, we headed outside to create chalk art. I love this picture of Sprout. He just plays this part to perfection.

The most beautiful baby who is growing WAY to fast!

Space theme for my space loving girl!

I never want days like these to end!

Hello Spring

At long last things are blooming here in KC! Not that we would know... really. It has been three weeks since we left our house and gone further than the church across the street. But the blooms there are STUNNING! So naturally i had to snap some pictures and because we're in the middle of a pandemic, people are "come as you are."

We didn't manage to get a very good one of all of us and that's fine. :)

This boy was alllll smiles as per usual. He's such a happy baby!!!

The tulips were up! Tulips are my favorite flower. They remind me of my Daddy and my Dutch heritage and they make me smile!

While I love all the smells, pumpkin, colors and sweaters that come with Fall, Spring is a major contender with no bugs, beautiful flowers, warm days and the feeling of restoration. LOVE this time of year!

May Phone Favorites

May came and went faster than I can believe and I feel like the year is already over! Summer has begun and before we know it the kids will be back in school, it'll be Halloween, then Thanksgiving, then Christmas and BAM! Fairwell 2018! Here is a round up of May!

May 1st, great omen of how the month is going to go.

Winning at this picture thing.
It finally warmed up and we had one week of nice weather then BAM! Summer! We got to enjoy the flowers for a few days though.

Poor sprout had his check up this month and they gave him four vaccinations and did a blood draw. It was the saddest thing and I almost had to leave the room. He was shaking so hard then he just went limp. Not good Batman!

We took him to Costco for a smoothie.

I threw away all of my milk today. It had spoiled and Sprout wanted nothing to do with it. All that work!!!!!!!

We implemented family chores and I'm a big fan!

Sprout wanted a fox so Mama made him his very own.

Splash park with friends.

Every time i see this picture I crack up laughing!

Sprout in now a free range baby and can go anywhere in the house. He loves teh basement and will happily play down there for hours!

First pool of the year!

E did a GREAT job at her track n field!

This boys LOVES his Daddy. He woud sit and watch him mow, eyes locked, counting down the seconds until Daddy came back. I'd say he's a big fan! Now it's time for more Vegas fun!

Sunny Days

There is a pretty big difference between being 21 and having a baby and being 27 and having a baby. My body is a champ, healing has been a breeze, but that tummy fat just isn't going away. And while I realize it has only been three weeks I also realize that I need to be more active, SO we loaded up the kids and took Leif out for his very first walk.

We didn't go far but it felt nice not to just be sitting on the couch!

The sun was shining and the temperature was perfect!
Manfred was my favorite though. He found a stick and carried it back like this the entire way! I am loving these sunny days! Crossing my fingers to have a few more weeks like this before it gets too hot!

Rainy Days

It has been raining here in KC for the last 10 days. I'm starting to feel as though I live in Seattle. And while most days it's just sprinkling today it was POURING, so naturally we headed outside to play in the puddles!

E wasn't a huge fan this time around saying she was super cold.

Duke could have stayed outside all evening! Nothing beats puddle jumping!

Easter

While we had every intention of making Easter a big deal, it ended up being 20 minutes of festivities and it was just perfect! Manfred decided that there was no way I was going to get him into his Easter outfit, and it just wasn't worth the fight. Despite his choice of clothing I think this photo turned out rather nicely.

At two days old it was Leif's first Easter. What a hunk!

He really wasn't in the mood for a bunny photo shoot. Thanks for the hat and booties Aunt Janet!

Then it was time for our egg hunt in the yard!

I was so excited to have SUNSHINE!!! Egg hunts are so much better outside in the sun!

E was a bit faster than Bear, but she was more than willing to re-hide a few of her eggs for him! What an awesome big sister.

Every time Duke would see an egg he would paoint and yell "It an eeeeeegggggg!" and laugh and run over to grab it. It was the cutest!

I packed the kids baskets before I went to the hospital and I'm so glad that I did!

E's basket.

Duke's Basket.

Leif's Basket.

I am so thankful for this Easter season and for our Savior who died for us and who rose again! I am so thankful for the atonement and how it has blessed and continues to bless my life. Happy Easter everyone!
