Manny fell asleep during sacrament meeting which NEVER happens.
Here are a few too many pictures of Sprout!! Be still my heart!

This month Sprout and I napped together A LOT!!! It was my favorite part of the day!

All tuckered out after a day at the zoo!

We got to see Gretta one day this month. How E missed her!!

First Solo Mani/ Pedi

I honestly feel that E has gotten so much older over the past three weeks or so. She's asking to help me with everything. The dishes, chores, cutting up fruit and vegetables, baby sitting Leif, and if she can do it, she doesn't want any help at all! So one afternoon I was painting my nails and I asked if she wanted to do her too. "Sure Mom!" she said, "But I can do it myself because Oma bought me my own polishes and I'm a big girl!" Well alright then.

And so she did her Mani/Pedi all on her own.

And gosh darn it she was so proud of herself. It's hard for me to let go of things and let her do things on her own but I find that when I do it's even better. So proud of this sweet girl and I am so lucky that she's mine!

Duke is A Big Boy!

Once our lives slowed down a bit we decided it was time for Duke to be potty trained. It was long over due. We once again went with the bare bum method, pumping him full of liquids and having him try to potty every 10 minutes. At first things looked bleak, he had four accidents and no successes in the potty and I was getting a bit nervous. Then, we had success and that was it! Duke has been doing a fantastic job with only two more accidents in the past two weeks and I really blame those on myself for not paying attention. He still has yet to go poo in the potty because of his morning poo in his over night diaper.

He's no longer wearing a diaper at nap time which is wonderful! He is not a big fan of undies. He picked some out but just doesn't like to wear them, which is fine by me for now. I am so proud of this sweet boy! He is a rock star!!

Some Summer Fun

Nothing says summer time like Popsicles with friends.

Or chalk on the driveway. What pretty Unicorn E!

 Or bubbles.

Or outdoor swimming pools! Leif wasn't a big fan of his first swim.

We are loving summer! Can't believe it's going by so quickly!!

Tooth Fairy

One afternoon E came running up to me saying she had a loose tooth. I was very skeptical... she's only 5. But after wiggling it for myself it was confirmed. E has a loose tooth!!!!
Within 5 minutes E went from crying her eyes out terrified that loosing her tooth would hurt. She went on and on saying how she was afraid and then I explained that all of her teeth would fall out and that new teeth would grow in, that's just the way it worked. She was hysterical! Sobbing completely devastated. I then told her that the tooth fairy would come and BOOM! Instant smiles, jumping up and down cheering. It was quite the spectrum of emotions!

I thought it would take awhile for her tooth to come out but within two weeks it had happened. She pushed too hard on her tooth with her tongue and *pop* out it came.

She didn't hardly cry, just a bit more shocked than anything.

TADA!!!! There's our big toothless girl!!!! I can't believe how big she has gotten! Stop growing up sweet girl!!
That night Mama made her a tooth fairy pillow and E put her tooth in it.

The next morning E had a gold coin!! She was so excited!

Her next tooth is already wiggly and you can see her adult tooth poking through! Still can't believe that my daughter is old enough to loose teeth!

Father's Day

Happy Father's Day to this stud muffin right here! Jakob is such an incredible husband and father, we truly hit the jackpot!

He works so hard to provide for our family and he never complains. After long days he comes home with a smile and first thing he does is asks me what he can do to make my day better. Most days he doesn't even have to ask, he sees a need and jumps right in. E loves when Daddy is home. Those two get along great. Jakob is currently teaching E how to play chess and E just loves having her Daddy all to herself.

Jakob is the best boy Dad! He makes sound effects, wrestles, play's GI Joes and he isn't afraid to let the kids get dirty. Duke adores his Daddy!! When Jakob comes home Duke comes to the door running full tilt!

Daddy is also a great snuggler! He is a good listener and our safe place. He makes our house a home and we are so blessed to call him ours!! Happy Father's Day Jakob. We sure do love you!!

(Pictures that E and Duke drew for Daddy. E's is a bit creepy.)

2 Months

  • Height: 23.4 inches
  • Weight: 13lbs 5oz
  • Nicknames: Leifers, Leif-let.

  • We tried tummy time for the first time this month, Leif wasn't a huge fan! He got a little pillow as a baby gift and we use that for tummy time so he's propped up more, but if he's just on his tummy he gets pretty cheesed off.
  • He's started to follow things and people with his eyes. He locks on pretty well.
  • He loves to stand up and jump. This boy has got the wiggles!!
  • Leif is still sleeping through the night waking up at around 4:30-5:00 to bed fed and then right back to sleep. He will then start fussing again around 6:30. If I do nothing then he's awake for the day if I lay him on my chest he will go back to sleep and sleep until 7:30-8:00. His napping schedule is a bit random but he usually takes two good naps one in the morning and one in the afternoon fro 2-3 hours.
  • He loves his peacock toy. It is his favorite. He will lay and stare at it for 1/2 hour! We keep that toy close!
  • Leif has moved up to size 1 diapers (which should have happened LONG ago!)

  • I am often told what a great baby we have and truly he is! He is happy just to be toted around. He doesn't  mind his car seat and just follows us wherever we are going. The life of baby number 3.
  • He is starting to like his sue more. E is the expert at getting him to take it.
  • This month both Leif and I caught head colds and so we napped together.... a lot. It's now become a bit tricky to get him to stay asleep once we put him down. Part of me doesn't mind, who doesn't like sleeping with their baby on their chest? It's something we have to work on this month.
  • Nursing is going phenomenally! Such a night and day difference! He's getting quicker but he's still a pretty lazy eater.
  • We went to the doctor for his routine check up and discovered that Leif has a flat spot on his head. We are trying to make sure he doesn't sleep on that one side and giving him more tummy time. Time will tell, he may need the helmet.
  • This boy likes to be held. If there are free arms he let's you know he wants to be in them! He also doesn't like being alone. If he's laying in a room and everyone leaves he let's you know he's been left behind.
  • All of his jaundice is finally gone! I love his little white eyes!!
  • This boy is all smiles and dimples, it is my favorite thing in the WORLD!
  • Leif is cooing more! I love to hear him talk and babble!
I am just obsessed with this little man! He is such a wonderful baby.

    The Farmstead

At long last we made it to the farmstead with Joanna and Katelyn. It was such a fun morning! WE love playing with friends!!

The kids were super excited to feed the goats!!

This was Bear's goat. He picked one and that was his goat. Another goat came by and jumped up knocking the bottle out of Duke's goat's mouth and tried to drink from the bottle. Duke pulled it away from the little goat saying in a very stern voice "No, STOP! Shoo, shoo, shoo!" And then he tracked down his goat and finished feeding him. It was so funny.

Then we went to feed the ducks!

Duke was really good at it. He would sit really still and the baby ducks would come up ad eat right out of his hands.

It was a great morning and we had a wonderful time! We will be going back again soon!!!
