September Phone Favorites

Duke and I matched. He looked like such a stud!!

E's perch. She really likes to sit on top of the couch for some reason.

Selfies. E loves taking selfies. she then likes to look at the pictures and say "That's cute!!"

I started a Mommy's group this month and we have been frequenting the park. I think our whole family is loving it! The kids get to play and I get to talk to someone who isn't two!

We've been doing a lot of painting.

We started brushing Duke's teeth this month. He now has four chompers and really enjoys brushing his teeth and playing with the tooth brush.

 Peek-a-boo!!!

I love getting hugs from my sweet girl!!!

At story time last week they brought in musical instuments to play with. The kids had a lot of fun playing the drums.

E's favorite thing were the claves. She would try out different items but always came back for the claves. So cute!

Helping put away the dishes.
I can hardly believe September has come and gone????!  Is it just me? I am excited for OcTOBLER!! Let the Halloween shenanigans begin!!

T.P.

Duke has a new favorite game. Can you guess what it is??

He was so cute I just couldn't stop him. It was totally worth the $1 roll of toilet paper.

Friday Fun

This week felt like we were always running some place. I had a few meetings and there was lots of planning, shopping and playing. Aside from leaving the house every day (which is really unheard of in this home) we had some fun laughing together.

Monday:
Daddy made E an pretty awesome fort. He said that my previous fort wasn't thought out very well since I used books. I told him to show me how it was done.... he did. He had a one up since he's a boy.

It even had a "window" to look out of.

Tuesday:
Coloring. Lots and lots of coloring.

Wednesday:
The kids really like playing a safari game where we pretend that we are on a safari looking for animals and I ask them what they see. They love making the noises and doing the hand gestures for each animal. Usually we just pretend to have binoculars but I decided to make E some of very very own.

She is the cutest little safari guide.

Thursday:
Painting. We usually alternate between painting and play doh every day.

I tried to get E to try finger painting. She liked to dip her finger in but wanted it washed immediately after. I told to to try mixing the colors and you would have thought I asked her to eat worms. This girl suffers from OCD.

Friday:
One would think that when Daddy is home there would be no need for "activities" since he's just so much fun. That was not the case Friday evening. The babies were crazy so we made a quiet activity. We took old poofs cans and cut holes in the lids. Initially I only made one can and within seconds we realized that sharing wasn't an option.

E's had two different sizes for the big and small pom poms.

Manfred's had one big hole. This was a great activity for him. He really enjoyed taking to pom poms in and out. We just had to watch that he didn't try to swallow any since he's still in the put-everything-I-can-in-my-mouth stage.

Exams are coming soon so glimpses of Daddy will be few and far between. Time is flying and I am starting to fall in love with Nashville. We are going to the Zoo next week! I can't wait to see how E does since she is terrified of anything with four legs. :)

27

One afternoon Daddy let E outside to play without covering her up or spraying her with big spray. 5 minutes later she came inside with 27 mosquito bites covering her arms, chest and one on her face. She did a really good job of trying not to scratch but it was a rough four days. Poor girl. Stupid bugs!!!!

Sugar Baby

One evening Manfred got into the sugar. Why the sugar? Could it not have been flour, salt, rice?? No, it was ant/ bug attracting sugar so naturally after taking a few pictures I was going a little bit crazy. Being the ding bat that I am I tried vaccuming it up with a carpet vacuum and it sprayed sugar everywhere! Awesome.

I was a little less than impressed with the mess but the boy was so cute I could hardly stay mad for long.

He was covered.

Now that it's over I can laugh. Good news no ant infestation and Manfred was mighty pleased.

Awesome Mommy Moments

Poor Manfred had a rough go. I took him to the Dr's for his one year visit. I knew he had to get some immunizations but other than that I thought it would be pretty routine. I mentioned that he has had some wheezing/ rattling going on. The Dr seemed intrigued and asked a few more questions which led to a breathing treatment for Duke to see if his lungs would open up. Seven minutes of wrestling a 24.2 lbs baby who was screaming at the top of his lungs, trying to keep a mask up to his face so that he could receive the medicine. So sad. All the while E sat hiding under the table asking if Duke hurt and seeing if he was okay. It was not the highlight of my week. Turns out Duke likes to get some sort of infection every time he gets a cold and he now has an inhaler to help with his breathing. Next he got 4 needles and a toe prick. Seriously, rough day for the little man. All I wanted to to was be back at home snuggling him.

After 2 hours at the office I was in a rush to load the kids into the car an go get our prescriptions so that we could get home for a let nap time. After Duke was strapped in I told E to walk around to her side of the car and get in. She wasn't listening as I opened the door she ran right into it. Awesome Mommy moment number 7. Poor girl. It was a rough day for all of us!

Mama & Mini

While my Mom was here she got me two Bettie Page dresses. I have been eying this sailor dress for awhile. I know they are for Christmas but I had to take a picture with E in her matching dress before she outgrew it. It's a lame one so I'll have to retake them but I love that we have matching dresses. So fun! Thank you Mama!!

Friday Fun

This week felt rather busy because we had company visit and we also didn't get a weekend. Daddy had a weekend class so Saturday and Sunday were "work days" too. SO let the good times roll!!

 Saturday:
I needed some reinforcements! Mama was tired and ready for back up so I went downstairs to get some toys out of resting. The kids were so excited to have blocks to play with! This kept them busy for quite awhile!

Sunday:
I went downstairs and I brought up one of our EXTRA LARGE moving boxes. I tossed the kids inside with some crayons and let them go to town! E had a great time coloring and Manfred had a good time eating the wax.

 Monday:
Sometimes you just need to play in a new room. Monday I was all about playing in the kids room. Blankets on the floor, stories and their personal favorite... GO ELMO (bouncing) in the crib! Duke loves E's bed but you have to watch him or else he'll eat the rails!!

Tuesday:
Basketball/ soccer with some balls and a basket. I took the kids shopping. We had lunch at Wendy's (very special) and then we ran into Wal-Mart and got some groceries out of necessity (I really dislike shopping with my kids. They are getting better but it's always a headache I try to avoid at any cost.) I bought a ball for Duke since E doesn't like to share her ball. We came home and played with our basket of balls. They really enjoyed this!

 Lamb got to watch.

 I love baby feet!!!

Wednesday:
Wednesday mornings we go to story time. This last time we went they were making yarn art. I asked E what she wanted to draw a butterfly, flower, heart... she looked at me and shook her said then said "No Ma, a sunshine for Pa!" She was so excited, so we made a sunshine. She helped push down the yarn and picked all of the colors. She was so proud. Manfred climbed inside of the yarn box and started destroying things, he then grabbed someones bottle and started sucking on it. Yeah, that's my kid.... Love my little terror.

 Thursday:
The weather was amazing!! It's starting to cool down which is great. We were in desperate need of some fresh air so I got the kiddos dressed and sprayed down with bug spray and we headed outside.

I found this toy in someone's trash can and brought it home. It probably belongs in someone's trash but to play in the back yard it was perfect. E loved play with her "house."

We were outside for a grand total of 5 minutes when I looked at Duke... he had four mosquitoes on his forehead! Stupid bugs. If we were going to live here much longer I would pay to have someone spray the yard. It was nice while it lasted.

Friday:
Daddy came home early to see some friends who drove down to visit... but that's another post. We are so glad to have Daddy back home. It was a busy week.
