January Phone Favorites

January.... I really dislike January. Part of me likes the fresh start to the year, and the fact that life slows down. The other part of me doesn't like the feeling of being stuck in a hole. In a funk if you will. this month took forever to get through but here we are on the other side and we had some fun times this month!

This year was the year of Marie Kondo. Everyone was junking out and finding things at sparked joy. I found a box that had every flower I was ever given in it. Most of them were junk, sweet memories, but it was obviously time to throw them away. This was my corsage from one of the graduations I attended. Roses and Cala Lilies are my favorite so that's what my date gave me. He was sweet.

My favroite find however, was this rose my Daddy gave to me for my 16th birthday. He sent a bouquet of flowers to my school. He was the best. I am going to frame this treasure.

Duke, came home covered in mud. There was mud everywhere!

Home Dpot Day!

There was one day this month where it got over 60F!! We went to the zoo with friends and it was incredible!!

Lots of snow days call for experiments!

And forts!

Sprout LOVES to cook. As in mot favorite thing to do ever!!!

It's always better to lay on Mama to take a nap!

Start em young!!

Thrift store shopping date with Bear!! I love being able to take special dates with each child!

E is getting really bendy!

He also loves small spaces. One of my favorite Sprout pictures!

Dinner prep. this year we have decided to start making the kids eat what we eat. Each family member gets a night to choose the meal. We were making Hawaiian chicken bowls and they were yummy!

Putting on her first diaper. E has essentially taken over parenting Sprout. ;) Those two just adore each other!!

And the wraps up January. We are excited for February! E's birthday month, Grammy and Pa are coming to visit and Valentines!! Bring it on!!

Our ministering brother had tickets for the local minor league hockey game!! Oh hockey how I loe thee!

We had glass seats right on the blue line. "Front row seats, right in the action. I mean, you can smell the sweat!" - Name that Movie. And boy could we smell it!

I love dates with you!!!

GO CHEIFS!

It was AFC championship and we were all sorts of ready!!!

 All geared up!!!! GO CHIEFS!!!!!

Touch down!!!!

This game was nuts... we came back from a 14-0 at half time to tie and then take the lead, it was so intense. We lost and it was so sad and honestly ridiculous, but I'm not getting into that. It was so fun getting dressed up! It was a wonderful season!!!!! GO CHIEFS!!!!

Snow-Magetton pt.II

My husband loves me. I think I maybe should have made that the title instead. This man loves me. He came outside to help me build an igloo and while we didn't get it completely finished I was still so darn excited about it!!

It was big enough for Jakob to lay down in. I had images of the family sitting inside, that was ambitious... next time, we'll go a bit smaller. :)

 Isn't she a beauty?!

Oh my Canadian heart!!! Seriously, I was all smiles from beginning to end! Building this baby made me home sick. I'm usually pretty good as far as being away from my homeland, but the snow had me aching for Canada and snowboarding and all the white fluff!

 Posing with the fort.

Daddy was out of town and I had a head cold from H-E double hockey sticks, but the kids wanted to make snowmen, so I put Sprout down for a nap, we bundled up and started creating...

... or playing. Haha.

Then we made a family. I am so in love with how they turned out. I even love that E wanted to be an owl instead of a person... So cute Peanut!

I sure do love this little family of mine!

Snow-maggeton 2019

We have had quite the winter here in KC! Like record breaking winter and gosh darn it it makes my heart SO happy!!!! This particular storm was magical! It dumped 12" and it was wet and sticky and covered everything!!

Sprout sure loves his Daddy!

I feel like the winter fairy in the Nutcracker!

Heavy snow does come with challenges. Our tree branch was resting on our power line so Jakob went out to cut it down.

Much better!! Part of our ward went without power for 4 days!!

When you're snowed in you play a lot of games!!

Then I looked at our thermostat and noticed.. it's dead. It was strange because the power to the house was still on. I notified Jakob and we realized that the furnace was out. That's right... our brand new furnace. It was a chilly day and a chilly night. Thankfully we had power still so we did a good deal of baking and bundled up nice and warm. the next day during sacrament meeting, Jakob went home so the furnace people could come out. It was a short in something or other and was easily fixed thank goodness!

 Neighbors hose down the road!!!
Two days after they removed the tree. Talk about BLESSED! That could have been a much worse story. They did end up replacing shingles. We had so much fun in the snow but that's another post!!
