St. Patty's Parade

St. Patty's was pretty low key. I called up Hattie and asked her if she has any plans and she said that there was a parade going on. We were SO there! I packed up some toys, a few blankets and some bags to catch candy and we were off.

Alli met us there and we all just hung out. The parade was huge, there were a few fun groups, lots of bands, fire trucks and my favorite... Ren Fair!!! Woot Woot!

I had Gretta, E and Duke while Hattie and Alli only had one child each which was a bit wild. G sat nicely and I figured once Duke got some candy he would sit nice too... I was wrong. There wasn't a single piece of candy thrown! Who has a parade without candy?!?!? So about half way through Duke got strapped into the stroller since he was a flight risk and G got out.

Then these two got bored but they were happily playing together.

Sweet little Ivy.

And this sweet boy was OUT! It was a nice parade.... really long (like an hour and a half.) Next year I will be bringing some candy!! Happy St. Patty's friends!

Fall Parade

It's OcTobler folks and what a better way to kick off OcTobler than with a fall parade? Our little "city" of Overland Park was hosting a fall parade and I was super excited!

We found our spot, now what else are you to do but dance in the street until it starts?

Gretchen and Little Camryn joined us! I love friends!

 Here we go!!

 Waving as they go by!

I was a bit disapointed, there wasn't anything "fall" about this parade, no pumpkins, no scarecrows, ya know nothing very festive. Gretchen and I decided that we would make our own float next year! I really enjoyed the marching bands as we didn't have any of those in Canada. But hands down my favorite car was the one with the mixer on the top.

The kids did get A TON of candy! I should have brought their candy buckets!

 Two suckers at once!

Duke was a little candy magnet, but who could resist this stud? It was a fun morning and we are looking forward to it next year!
