May Phone Favorites

Whoop, there goes May! I don't even think I had time to register May it was such a blur! Here is this months phone favorites.

Jakob went on got his allergies tested. We have been in KC for four years now and Jakob's allergies are out of control. He's always had a bad month in September, but this yer he had horrible spring time allergies too. So he went and got poked and we discovered that he is allergic to the outdoors. He tested positive in almost every outdoor category. He is not allergic to most molds, any food, or any pets. Lucky guy. So he has decided to start a round of shots to make him immune. Fingers crossed that it helps him come the fall.

Sprout loving on his bear....

... and his panda. This boy loves his stuffies!

E changing a bum before we head out the door for school.

It's been one of those days.

E's art work.

Most Friday's Sprout and I got out for lunch. Today was all free because of my points. He was so excited to sit up in the front seat.

It was 80 degrees out and the kids wanted to play in the sprinkler... it's still a bit chilly for that.

Peanut participating in a magic show. She was so dang cute!

Sprout needed a hoop in Vegas. two pool noodles and some duck tape later and we had a hoop!

He was a big fan!

E found a dress she liked at Savers. We need to alter the neckline a bit, but it was a great find!

Nurf gun training at Gramma's.

 Sharing chocolate chips with Pa.

Sprout's favorite time of the day was getting the mail with Pa!

And that's a wrap on May, summer is here and it is going to fly by!

Earning thier Keep

I am a firm believer in the kids doing chores. These kiddos need to learn to help around the house and even though Grammy and Pa's house isn't theirs, they still had a chore list and they worked on it really well. Duke got to help Pa mow.

E was really good at helping prep meals.

Sprout was on laundry duty.
Everyone helped in the yard dead heading.

E had trash and Duke had recycling.

They had to emptythe dishwasher everyday, sometimes twice a day.

The laundry never ended.

Duke scrubbed toilets and cleaned mirrors.

E and Sprout scrubbed tubs and wiped the bathroom counters.

And they would help Pa dry the floor by skating around with rags on their feet.
And sometimes, Sprout would be most helpful by plugging in. :) Love my little worker bees!

Warm Springs

Every Thursday is open swim out at Warm Spring in Moapa. It is about an hour drive and so we have never been there. Mom and I were game for an adventure so off we went.

There were too pools a "natural" pool complete rocks, trees and little fish that ate the skin off of your feet. It was very picturesque even though we didn't get a very good groupie.

So here's the worst one :)

Down the hill a little ways there was a second pool that had warm water from the natural pool feeding into it. The water was like bath water, clear, and delightful. Sprout found a ball and a hoop and he was SOLD! They boy could have played hoops for hours. At one point there was a group of boys who had borrowed Sprouts ball, they were really great about letting him have a turn every once in awhile and they would cheer when he'd score. It was adorable.

This little girl is determined to go life jacket free. Her swimming has improved immensely and I am so proud of her!

Duke we are just trying to get him to get his face wet! It'll happen, but for now I'm perfectly alright with him wearing a life jacket, watching three kiddos at the pool is a bit tricky even with two adults lol. Loved Warm Springs and I am excited to go back again!

Sprout was ALL about the airplane!

We now take up a row PLUS a seat. Sprout and E were little buddies...

... and duke sat across the isle from me. He was a good sport and he slept most of the way.

We arrived in Vegas and Pa took us on a walk to see the horses!

Sprout was a big fan!

He even got Pa to be a horse too!! We are so happy to be in Vegas! Let summer time begin!!!

Last Day of School

This year we are heading back to Vegas for a month to let Jakob study. It tuned out that flights were $200 cheaper if I left on Tuesday vs Thursday... so the kids got out for school two days early. I was a bit sad since the last day of school is so festive, but we still got our teachers gifts and said our goodbyes. Ms. Boos was the PERFECT teacher for Duke! She was kind, sweet and patient and knew just when to push him to make him stronger. Her classroom was bright and full of owls. Duke loved Ms. Boos and we are so thankful for her!!

Ms. Cole, this woman has changed our lives and Duke had another super successful year because of her! I can hardly believe we have been working with her for three years now. SO SO SO grateful for her and how much she loves Duke!

When the school year first started E and I were both a bit apprehensive. They were in the process of hiring E's first grade teacher and she wasn't supposed to start teaching until four days after school started. Poor E just went from Duke's classroom where is was colorful and full of owls (her favorite) to a classroom with quite literally just desks! Flash forward to Ms. Lusby arriving and all our worries were GONE! Ms. Lusby was sensational! She saw E as an individual, and she stretched her! She gave her specific challenges and had her stepping out of her comfort zone. At our parent teach conferences she would tell me how amazing E was and how proud she was of her and I could see it, and actually feel it in the way she talked about her and it made my Mama heart so happy. Teachers get your children more than you do in a day and to have a teacher who wanted to not simply teach but know her was incredible. This year E soared. She is reading at a third grade reading level. She is at a second grade math level and she is rocking example in the class room! I am so proud of this sweet girl! It has been an awesome school year!
