August's Phone Favorites

 Here are a few of my favorites that I took with my phone. I rarely end up getting the pictures from my phone to the blog so I think I'll start a monthly phone favorites. Oh what fun! Here's Baby Duke 3 hours old.

 How they jerry rigged my IV. I hated where they put it in and the nurse taped it up all crazy like. It was quite the masterpiece.

Our son sleeps like a starfish. He's just like his Daddy! P.s. his lip isn't swollen, he just finished nursing.

Out for lunch at Costco. She needed some Mama snuggles. Love her!

E is obsessed with "getting dressed." She isn't fond of shirts but loves her bibs, shorts, skirts, and socks. She has been known to put on several articles of clothing at the same time.

Would you like some fries with you ketchup? Oma introduced E to ketchup while they were here and E would practically drink the stuff. It was pretty funny!

The other night Ethnie insisted that she wore her Elmo bib in the tub. We have taken our obsession to a new level. Good thing she's adorable! It sure made us smile.

I know I'm a little picture crazy but it's hard not to be when you have such cute kids. August was a wonderful month full joy, love, laughter and snuggles. It went by much too fast but I'm looking forward to fall; cooler weather, pumpkins, sweaters & apple cider.

Bubbles in the Tub

 On August 28th Duke had his first bath. It was much needed! After 26 days babies get rather stinky. At first he wasn't so sure about the whole idea...

 ... but once he got into the warm water he was just as happy as can be.

All fresh and clean. Don't you just love the smell of a baby right after a bath?

Splashing Around

 Ethnie loves the splash park so for Mom and Dad's final two days we headed out to enjoy some fresh air and the sunshine! Oma and E had a blast while Opa sat in the car with Duke with the a/c on. 

 Ethnie was so cute. She would walk up to kids big and small, wave and say hi. She was looking for a friend to play with and most of them ignored her and the little man a few months younger than her just ran the other way. It made my heart hurt a little bit as a Mama. Here was my darling daughter being rejected and all she wanted to do was have fun. Don't worry she had a Mama and an Oma to play with! 

I just love our sweet little E. She is my sunshine and I couldn't love her more!!

 A word to the wise.... don't leave your purse laying around. Someone is rather fond of money. :)

Some Bouncing Fun

 While Oma and Opa were here we had the air mattress out at all times. E loved bouncing on it. I see a trampoline in our future. Then one day Oma decided to prop it up on the ottoman and use it as a slide. Ethnie loved it. It was her and Oma's special game. 

When they weren't bouncing, tickling, sliding or rolling they were playing with Ethnie's baby doll. There were lots of kisses to be had.

 Thanks for being such a wonderful Oma Mom! Ethnie loved playing!! It wasn't all play while my parents were here, we worked to! Mom helped clean, organize, did a ton of laundry, shopping and helped paint our holiday post. I felt like they worked their whole vacation. I'm so thankful for my parents and all of the work that they do whenever they come! It means so much to me!

 After all that hard work, it was time to snuggle.

My Hero

I'm sure every little girl grew up thinking that their Dad was a super hero. My Dad and I have always been close and to this day I still think he's a super hero. I made up a Daddy-Do-List while he was here. My Dad can fix just about anything, he's a pretty handy individual. I had several projects that I needed completed and Dad was more than happy (or at least he pretend to be) to help. First project: instal some crown molding around the closet to hang my shoes. Finally they are out of the garage and in my closet!! 

Project #2: Something happened to the lock on my drivers side door, it wasn't working so I had to walk around my car to unlock it. Big deal? No, but it was rather annoying. Dad ripped apart my car door and fixed the lock. 

Project #3: Stereo. Lat time Dad was here he ripped apart my car trying to fix my radio. He made it better but it still wasn't fully functioning. A few weeks later I was throwing away the trash in my car an accidentally threw away my face plate to he stereo. Brilliant I know. Dad was determined to sort this issue out saying that a girl just have to have music when she's driving. I'm so thankful that he took the time to fix something that I could live without. I truly missed my radio. I'm telling you, super hero.

I totally love the Batman refection on the windshield. Some other projects Dad completed while he was here: caulking our bathroom, staining a board, gluing the microwave, playing with Ethnie and Snuggling Duke. Words cannot do my gratitude justice. Thank you so much for all of your hard work Dad!
