March Phone Favorites

March was cold and wet and is zipped by quick. Here is a round up of our phone favorites.

Play date with some friends. We love Bexley and Elliot. They are the same ages as Duke and E and it is just perfect.

Date night at the Symphony. So beautiful. I love the Kaufman center.

1 year well check!

The cutest cookies at Cash's birthday!

E lost her front tooth at the party. Our converstation went like this:
E: Mama is my tooth still in my mouth?
Mama: No, did you pull it out?
E: No! *Giggles* I bit a strawberry.
Mama: Did you swallow it?!
E: *Face falls and thinks* I think so. *Giggles*

That's a wrap for March. How quickly time passes!

Easter Fun

Daddy needed to study so Oma and I got the kids dressed up and headed over to Bass Pro to see the Easter bunny. Thank heavens Oma was there!! We waited in line for and hour and a half (granted we were there a half hour early,)

Worth it? Probaly not, but Daddy needed quiet so why not?! The kids were super cute though.

This one makes me laugh!

then we came home and made some cookies.

We tried our hand a flood icing again. Flood icing is such an art form, and requires so many bags of icing in so many consitancy's. but the final product is always very pretty.

Easter baskets all set out. Daddy likes to hide them.

 E found hers!

 Bear found his!

And then it snowed. Or mini hailed? I'm not sure what you'd call this stuff.

We spent the rest of the weekend watching conference, sustaining a new prophet and napping. I love conference weekend. I love getting to listen to the talks and hearing inspiration in so many different ways. I also love Easter. It's especially special to me because we blessed E on Easter Sunday 6 years ago and Leif is a Good Friday baby. I am so thankful for our Savior. For his love a sacrifice. I am thankful for the atonement and for its healing power. I am also thankful for this gospel, for a prophet and for eternal families. My life is full and happy because of this church. I feel joy, love and peace because of our Savior and I am thankful for this Easter time when we can reflect on his gift to us. Happy Easter.

Egg Hunt

This year, the weather was horrible again. Easter has had a tradition of yucky weather here in KC. Our Egg Hunt plans got cancelled so last minute we threw together and hunt at the park. The kids were just so excited!

I super love these Easter baskets, better yet the kids love them too!

Some of the Dad's got pretty tricky with the eggs.

So glad Oma is here, holidays are much more fun with family (more of our fun in another post)! Also hoping for some warm weather.

Sprout's Easter

While technically this is Sprout second Easter (he's a Good Friday baby) we were being discharged from the hospital and wern't feeling very festive last year, so I decided that Sprout needed his very own photo shoot.

Some Bunny loves you! Hoppy Easter Sprout!

Sprout's Hair Cut

Sprout's hair was getting a bit wild and so I decided it needed a trim. I put on the #8 guide and started cutting, I didn't realize that a #8 was so short! My baby isn't a baby anymore he looks so grown up now!
We sure do love you sweet boy!!!

My Little Leprechaun

It's Sprout's first St. Patty's and while I really don't do anything for St. Patty's Day I couldn't resist doing a mini photo shoot. Sprout is wearing the same outfit as Bear when he was little. So fun to compare the two.
So Lucky to have you!!!

11 Months

    • Weight: 20 lbs 7oz (44th percentile)
    • Height: 29.5" (53rd percentile)
    • Head Circumference: 48.9 cm (97th percentile)
    • Nicknames: Sprout, Sproutatticus, Goo Goo
    • We weened this month and Sprout has lost quite a bit of weight. The Doctor wasn't concerned since he's still in the 50th percentile, but between weening and how busy he is he's really trimmed down.
    • Weening went really well. We went down to Mama Milk just before bed and then we would go a couple of days without it and if he'd have a rough night we'd nurse. It was really quite natural. I will admit that I do miss the rocking before bed but now we snuggle and read books and I love that too. I have an entire freezer full of frozen milk (just shy of 2,000 oz) and he won't even look at the stuff. He's not the biggest fan of cows milk either however we have started giving him milk with vanilla protein powder in it and he loves that. He is also a huge fan of homemade yogurt!
    • When he's excited about something he pants and kicks his legs. It may be one of my favorite things. Things he's usually most excited for are tub time (kid loves being naked), Daddy coming home and his pouches.

    • Leif is still pounding back the food. We actually have to cut him off most days. Current favorites are pouches (the veggie ones), rice with beans and corn, noodles with marinara, yogurt, sausage, chicken nuggets, and just about anything else you throw at him. He actually ate almost all of my tacos from Costa Vita yesterday. He doesn't like cheerios, cake or eggs. He's figured out his sippy cup and loves to have watered down juice or his milk with protein powder.
    • He will stand solo and cling to my pants and walk behind me but he still has no desire to walk even though he is more than capable.
    • Leif loves to play patty cake and will clap his hands on his own now which is the CUTEST!

    • He is using fewer and fewer words. He now points and grunts and whimpers. They are all of the same tone so I know exactly what he wants. He can still say, Ma-ma, and Ba-ba, but he is pretty good at getting what he wants without using words.
    • This boy just wants to be toted around. He will stand at your feet until you pick him up and then he'll point or lean where he wants to go.
    • Sprout's favorite parts of the day are meal times and when Daddy comes home. If I walk to the garage he will jump and kick around in my arms all excited and then he gets really sad when he seeing the car isn't there and will go "Oh" with a little pout. This boy loves his Daddy!
    • This boy is all about buttons, switches and knobs. He is learning how to open and close doors, the oven, push buttons on the microwave. He is soooo busy!
    • Top tooth STILL isn't through! I'm about to cut it out myself. Poor baby is not impressed with it at all.
    • Spout is sleeping so much better!!! He wakes up around 6:30-7:00 and has breakfast and plays. then he goes down fro a nap between 9:30-10 and sleeps until around 11:30. Then he is up for lunch and to play or run errands (he loves going on adventures.) Second nap is between 1:30-2:00 and he sleeps until around 3:30-4:30 depending on how loud the kids are when they get home. Then we have dinner, tub time and lots of playing/ getting into trouble and bed time is around 7:30. He will almost always sleep through the night and if he does wake up it is around 9:30 and he just needs a quick snuggle and he's back to sleep.
    • Sprout likes to chew of socks as they come out of the laundry. He will stick one in his mouth and just suck on it all afternoon. I don't get it but it makes him happy.
    • Sprout {loves} his elephant. He totes him almost everywhere he goes and carries him by his tail. He has also bonded with his green and gray blanket but he will go to sleep with other blankets, just prefers that one.

    • This boy has figured out how to go down the stairs and get off of the couch. I discovered this one day as I was putting away laundry. I was upstairs and figured that Sprout was being too quiet. He had gotten the basement door open (I guess it didn't latch when I closed it) and was half way down the staircase. I was so surprised as I wasn't aware he had mastered that skill and was grateful that he haddn't smashed his head rolling down the steps. He is so funny. He will back up his little booty until he touches the top stair with his foot, he'll put some pressure on in and then he'll climb back up the stairs and onto the platform and then he'll back up again. He'll touch the stair with his foot and then crawl up the stairs to the bathroom door and back up again. I have no idea what that is about, maybe he has to get his angle just right but I laugh every time.
This boy is such a joy and I love being his Mama! I can't believe he will be one in a month! Good golly where did the time go?
