Little Toes

Someone is starting to find her toes. She hasn't started grabbing them yet but she likes to sit up and stare at them.

First Time Parents

We're first time parents.. does it show? Well you'll know Ethnie is our first after this post!! Last Thursday I was working really hard with Ethnie teaching her to grab things. She was doing pretty well but would only end up getting things in to her little mitten and letting them go a couple of seconds later. Well... while at cubs she reached out and Jakob handed her a pen. She held onto it for 20 minutes! See, I told you you'd know we were first timers ;).

Obviously I was slightly proud so I took a few pictures to document the moment... these last couple she just happened to be adorable hence the pictures... the pen is just an accessory she wouldn't give up. She had lots of fun playing with Daddy. She's really warming up to him which is wonderful for all of us! I get a break and Daddy and Ethnie get some cuddle time! :)

She really loves to stand now. She likes being able to see what's going on around her. Her legs are super strong and she can hold herself up for quite awhile. What a cutie.

My First Mothers Day

It feels very strange to be welcomed into the realm of motherhood. In Sacrament they asked all of the mothers to stand and I felt a little unworthy to be standing with such wonderful, strong, and spiritual women. I pray that one day I will feel up to the challenge to rise with these women as I raise our little family.

It was a wonderful Mothers Day! Jakob got me some beautiful lilies! It was exceptionally special since Jakob has only gotten me flowers once before when we were engaged. I'm glad that these had roots so I can enjoy them much longer!

It is so wonderful being a Mother to such a sweet and precious little girl! It is such a sacred calling and I wouldn't trade it for the world! Every time I look at our sweet baby I am overwhelmed with love and joy. Ethnie just glows, I am just enchanted by her. While in moments of quiet reflection her sweet smile pierces my soul in a way only a Mother would understand. Even though she cannot talk yet, it's in these quiet moments that we have our most important conversations. It's a conversation that does not need words, that consumes your entire being and fills you with the most pure and precious love.

I am so thankful to be a mother. It is such a blessing, even though it is not easy by any stretch of the imagination it is most definitely worth it!

Ethnie wanted Daddy to feel loved as well so she shared her smiles and some kisses with him.

After church and a much needed nap we went to Mom and Dad Toblers for dinner. (Thanks Dad, it was delicious!) It is so wonderful having Mom back in Vegas! I missed her dearly, but I suppose I have to share her with the other Tobler families. :) Her card this year was from the "Grand kids" I had a vision and it simply wasn't coming to pass. Thankfully Grandma didn't even notice all of the flaws!

Each letter featured a Grandchild and had a little note from them. She seemed to really like it. :)

After dinner we went out to the pool to dip our feet in and "check the water." It was a very warm 98°F! Let the swimming begin!! Poor Mom was fighting a cold but she looked beautiful even though she didn't feel so hot!

Little Peanut was coming down with a cold as well and just wasn't happy. Poor thing, she did seem to enjoy the water but she wanted to eat, sleep and cuddle more. Next time we'll get some better pictures :)

I hope all of you mothers had a wonderful mothers day. Thank you to all of the women who are such an example for me to follow. A very Happy Mother's Day to my Mother and Grandmother in Canada. Thank you for all of the hugs, kisses and laughs. I have been so blessed to call you mine. xoxo

ConGRADulations

This weekend Jakob graduated with his bachelors in Business Finance. We had to drag him to graduation but I'm so glad we did. It was awesome being able to celebrate his accomplishments.  My favorite part was playing "Where's Waldo?" Can you spot Jakob?

How about in this one?

There he is!! The only one with his hands in his pockets :).

Walking across the stage! He didn't even trip and fall. I'm so proud!

This year was the first year UNLV had students graduating from the Entertainment Engineering program. One of the students flew up onto the stage to receive her diploma. She looked like Tinkerbell.

The turning of the tassles! Whooo hoo!! Congrats Graduates!!

Daddy and Ethnie in the little dress I made her. She didn't own anything red. We're so proud of you Daddy!

 Jakob's biggest fans!

We then headed to Costco for some delicious lunch! It was a wonderful afternoon followed by man night at our house. The boys stayed up playing until 4:30 a.m. Talk about a party!! We love you so much Jakob! Thank you for working so hard at everything you do!

An Evening Out

This last weekend we went to a lacrosse game. It was a pretty competitive game. Since the team we were cheering for side was pretty full we decided to sit on Green Valley's side. Things got pretty heated, parents screaming and all so we ending up cheering for GV to avoid having a parent yell our heads off ;).

I'm sure everyone is tired of seeing our child so we'll be featuring Addison today. Her Daddy just got back from a 4 month externship with Walt Disney so we took Addi so they could have a date night.

She really liked cheering on the boys! So cute!

It was a little bit nippy so I brought one of my coats for Addi.... sad thing is it almost fits her. I'm the size of an almost three year old... sad.

Like father like son. It was lot of fun stealing Dad from his bachelor pad (Mom's in Baltimore). We sure do love Grandpa!

And of course little Peanut all bundled up! It was a fun evening... I look forward to the days when we're cheering on our own children in sports, but this is perfect too!

Swing Life Away

Daddy's first gift to Ethnie was the Jenny jumper. He was so excited about it! He bought it for her a few weeks ago but when we placed her inside she just slumped to the bottom. It's clearly meant for bigger babies so a disappointed Daddy put it away for awhile.

Since Peanut did so well with her Bumbo I decided to reintroduce her to the jumper, only this time we gave her a little friend for support :). At first she wasn't so sure... she wasn't all that fond of "bouncing" so I shortened the strap and now it's a swing. She loves swinging! It is now a crucial part of our daily routine!

Just Peanut and Bear swinging life away. What great friends!
