Father's Day Week Kickoff

Ethnie and I are seriously spoiled. We are so blessed to have such a wonderful man as a husband and a father. Jakob works so hard for us and he never complains. I mean never!! Since he is so wonderful I didn't think celebrating Father's Day could be bottled up in 24 hours, plus, Ethnie and I flew to Canada this week to surprise my Mother for her birthday. Hopefully these few small gifts will make us feel not so far away.

For the first day Jakob got a candy gram. It was pretty pathetic if I do say so myself, the dollar store didn't offer very many choices. Nevertheless he liked it :)

It said:

Dear Mr. Toblerone

 We hope that you are having an Abba-Zaba day! You are our lifesaver and a Joy! You are worth more than 100 Grand or a Cup-O-Gold. You make Ethnie go GooGoo and Mama can't stop Gobstopp-ing at you. We are so lucky to have you as a part of our 3 musketeers even though we are a couple of Goobers. We look forward to sharing many more mentos. Happy First Father's Day!

Little Tobler Feet

Big Dog, Big Baby

Allow me to introduce you to James and Jenna's dog Krios. He is a 200+ lb Great Dane and we love him to pieces. The other day we were over visiting and we decided to let Krios have is first encounter with an actual baby (he's only ever been around older babies.) He was such a chicken, he would only come close if James was sitting in between him and Ethnie. Ethnie didn't even flinch. I was really impressed with how well she handled being in the Scott zoo (they have two dogs, a cat and a ferret!) Once Ethnie gets bigger I would love to get some cute pictures of her and Krios. Thanks Jenna and James for letting us visit. It was great seeing you!

Look What I Found!

 June 1st Ethnie found her toes for the first time and since then she hasn't let them go!

 Of course as with any landmark moment in her life we had to have a photo shoot. I know sometimes I tend to go a little crazy and post too many pictures but I'll share a secret with you.... I took over 250. Having a DSLR camera that takes 3 frames per second is wonderful! Especially with such  wiggly baby!!

 She {loves} the camera be it my cell phone, the point and shoot or the Cannon. She is locked in and has no problem letting me snap 250+ pictures of her. She especially likes to watch video's (which I just figured out how to create on my camera!) of herself but that's another post.

 Yesterday she had both feet for the first time. 

 It took her awhile but she finally figured out how to get those little toes into her mouth.

Another trick she's got down is sucking on her hands with one finger up her nose. She's not particularly fussy about which finger goes where but I've found her like this on several occasions. We may have a future nose picker. Gross! 

This is her pouting face. This was the first picture I took which was quickly followed with a smile. I love it when she sticks her little lip out. What a doll. I sure do love being her Mama.

Blaaahhhhhh!

The other day Ethnie discovered her tongue. I must admit at first it drove me crazy. She would lick everything and the drool was even worse than normal. Now I think it is adorable. She just makes me smile. It's amazing how long her tongue is! Further evidence she's all Daddy, I have the stubbiest tongue. She also found her voice in the middle of sacrament meeting yesterday. Golly that girl can squawk. I suppose we'll save that for another post. Here is a video of Ethnie and her "Kiss" tongue. What a goof.

Baby Mozart

This was Ethnie's first time playing the piano. I look forward to all of her piano recitals in the future but for now just plunking away is he sweetest music I've ever heard.

Memorial Day

 Memorial Day was so much fun! It was filled with lot of "Mom & Me" activities. It feels so nice to get back into the swing of things! I have dearly missed our visits/ activities that used to take place four days a week. We started out the day with the hunt at Savers. Most everything was 50% off so we went in search of a base dress for Princess Belle. We had no such luck however we did get a few pair of shoes and a lot of children's books. (I'll admit I have a slight addiction to books as of late.)

We then headed up Mount Charleston to hike. I haven't been hiking in over a year! It was so nice to dust off my hiking shoes and smell the fresh mountain air! It was also Ethnie's first adventure in the wilderness.

She did such a good job! She fell asleep on the way up the hill. Mom graciously offered to switch out and carry her. Yes I realize it is sad that 37 ;) year old Mom Tobler is in better shape than me at 22 years old. Seriously! I had better start getting my but in gear! 

 Grandma and Peanut! Best of friends. 

 We got quiet a ways up and then decided that rock scrambling with a baby probably wasn't the safest idea. So we stopped for a quick snack and headed back down the hill.

 On the way down Ethnie was just chattering away, telling us about all of the neat things she saw, well that's what we'd like to think anyways. She definitely earned her hiking shoes. I see many more adventures in her future!

 We were then treated to Pin Kaow for Jakob's graduation dinner. It was absolutely delicious! My mouth is watering just thinking about it. May I draw your attention to the pile of plates Jakob was finishing off. Not one morsel was left behind! 

We finished the evening off with dessert at Yougurtland. Yummy. Peanut was really interested in what was in Daddy's cup. She settled for a spoon in each hand instead. It was a wonderful memorial day! Thank you so much to Mom and Dad for such a special evening!
