10 Months

    • Weight: 21lbs
    • Nicknames: Sprout, Sproutatticus, Goo Goo
    • Busy Bee should be this little mans middle name! He is not a huge fan of organization. He likes to destroy and make messes. You clean up one room and he's right there making a mess behind you. He is a literal tornado and is constantly on the go! You need two eyes on this one!
    • We are weaning. Sprout has bitten me a few times and we are planning a trip where I will be away for two nights. So we are cutting back, pretty quickly. He now nurses occasionally before nap time but for the most part it is only right before bed and once during the night. I am really trying to get him to sleep through the night and he is getting much better. It is still a bit of a struggle though with him getting up around 9:30, and once between 12 & 2.
    • This boy loves to boogie!!!!!
    • Leif is all about the food. All food! He LOVES noodles and crackers. Downs pouches in less than 20 seconds and pounds back sausage like no other. He wants what you are eating. All of it. He will just finish his won meal and then he'll come back to eat yours. No one eats alone. EVER. Still have yet to master a sippy cup but then again I've only attempted to give him one a hand full of times.
    • This kid is standing solo and has attempted a solo step or two. He lacks the confidence but lets be honest I am NOT ready for him to be walking yet.
    • Leif is still all about the bathroom and will zip up the stairs in 10 seconds flat if he gets the chance. He has zero interest in going back down the stairs so here's hoping that we will master that soon!
    • He is still using lots of words. He'll now sign for all done and sometimes will say "a dun." He would rather say more than sign it. He is really good at telling us what he wants when he wants it.
    • This boy loves to be carried. He wants to be at your feet or in your arms all day long. Undivided attention and he's not afraid to yell until he gets it.
    • Sprout is becoming more and more of a Daddy's boy. Those two have lots of fun together and Daddy is a pretty bit fan of this little man.
    • This boy loves light switches and flicking them on and off. He uses one little pudgy finger and it is super cute!
    • He learned how to give high fives and will stick his hand up and wait for someone to give him a high five!
    • Leif cut his second bottom tooth. Top teeth are budding and still taking forever.
    • Spout loves the phone and all ramotes!!!
    • Sprout likes to push the hamper around. He is all about the independence.
    • Tub time is this kids JAM! As he's getting undressed he starts jumping around kicking and gets the BIGGEST smile! He loves to go "swimming"
    •  Sprout is thinning out but still weighs a ton. He likes to throw his body weight as you're holding him to tell you which way he wants to go. HE is hilarious. I feel like a pack mule.
    • Sprout loves to play with the cat door!

          Valentines Day

It's Valentines day!!! What a busy day. I got to not only go to one party but two! It was so fun seeing Duke at school with his friends.

He loved his dinosaur face paint.

           And all the fun games!

Then I got to go to E's school.

We sure do love Mrs. Schulteis!!

Duke made the cutest little bag at school and was beyond excited to open up his Valentines!

E's owl box was a big hit in her class. She got lots of Valentines too!

Once the kids were home we tried to do some pictures. This... This is real life. Silly faces and wiggles.

I mean, really this is just perfect.

And then there is this, the power of photo shop. Completely fake.

E loved her unicorn. It's not perfect, but I am pleased with how it turned out.

Sprout wasn't in the picture taking mood.

And Bear loved his Daddy Fox!

Daddy and I had a wonderful evening spending time with our tiny humans and I couldn't be more in love with my sweet Valentines!

          Valentines Week

This year was a fun one for Valentines. Jakob's gifts were slightly inappropriate but hilarious so proceed with caution.

          Day 1

          Day 2

The kids really liked their quiet books. I love these book because I don't care what happens to them. The quiet books I make I love but I'm really protective of them. These ones I can toss in my bag and it doesn't make me insane counting pieces.

          Day 3

          Day 4

          Day 5

Day 6- E loved her unicorn and Duke was head over heels for his fox! Love Valentines week!

          Valentines Prep

School is so much fun! E was very excited to made up her Valentines box. She picked an owl and she had a great time making it!

Hoot hoot!! Owl box complete! Love this time of year!!!

          House Projects

One afternoon while Jakob was on a business trip I could hear some skittering around upstairs. It sounded like a critter on the roof, so I headed outside to investigate... no critter. But then there was the noise again, only louder. Not in the roof... in the attic. Squirrels to be exact. PERFECT! Of course this would happen while Jakob was away.

So Jakob came home and set to work trying to fix a few things around the house. First he installed a Nest. Which he loves. Then he installed a humidifer, that is controlled by his Nest, which he loves.

Then he set outside to climb up on teh roof and patch the hole. Trouble is the pitch on our house is pretty steep. Steep enough that Jakob almost fell off, so we decided to go a safer route and simply cut a hole in the roof. I mean why not? I have always wanted a sky light in the kids room. (Can you feel the sarcasm yet?)
Not only was it a squirrel... it was a Mama squirrel, building a nest. PERFECT! So Jakob started to patch the hole.

Hopefully it is fixed. Love being a home owner. (Okay yes we do but this was a pain!)

          Snowy Days

Sunday morning I looked outside the doors of the church and it was snowing, really snowing! It was amazing! Of course we had to head outside and enjoy the big fluffy flakes!

I was in my happy place. This is the most snow we have had in the past two years and I was thrilled!

Now here's hoping it sticks around a little bit longer!
