If you asked anyone who E's favorite person in the world is without question they would tell you her Pa. The sun rises and sets with Pa on her mind. I can't begin to explain how excited she was go to to Pa's house. For weeks before we headed to Vegas she would tell me she was going to see him. The night before we left to go on the plane she got all dressed, put her shoes on and ran into the bathroom and said "Bye Daddy, me go on the airplane to see Pa now!!! See you later!!" She grabbed her back back and headed for the door. It broke her heart to hear that she still had one more sleep.
Once these two were reunited they were inseparable. Anywhere Pa went E wanted to be right there beside him. She really enjoyed watching shows while they snuggled.
The nightly tradition of cookies and milk beagan again. It's as if they never stopped. E got the milk and the napkins all set up and she was thrilled that Pa had blue cookies for her and brown cookies for Pa.
She looked forward to milk and cookies every night!
One evening Pa and E just sat rocking watching shows while Pa brushed her hair. Sweet moments like these touch my heart.
They would snuggle up close and read stories.
And then they'd laugh at the silly pictures!
On several occasions E would ask Pa to sing "Sunshine!" It is their song and anytime he would sing it she would just beam. Sometimes she would sing along, other times she would simply smile and listen.
Once we got home E started to cry. She wanted her Pa to come tuck her in. She asks for him constantly and it makes me long for home so that I could make the 20 minute drive and make that wish come true. Living far away is hard on all of us!
I am so grateful for the close relationship that E and Pa have. It is a bond that I hope only grows throughout her life. Thanks for all of the fun and memories Pa. E's favorite activity is looking at all of the pictures and fun that we had together. We love and miss you guys like crazy!!!! (p.s. don't worry Mom Tobler, E loves you too and you're still number one in my book!!)
