Mom Life - Poop

I am not an easily embarrassed person, but when those rare moments come along, man they are special. We had decided to go to McDonald's for lunch one super hot afternoon. The play place was amazing and the kids were having a blast. I saw Duke grab himself and told him to come down and go potty. of course he was at the very top of the structure. He started to make his way down. Once he came out of the slide I took him to the potty that had no light in in. I sat him on the toilet using my phone's flashlight as a light and I could smell poo. I assumed the person before us hadn't flushed when I went to pull up Duke's pants and saw poo on his leg. SO I cleaned him up, using the thinnest toilet paper ever, when I heard E scream and say "EEEWWWWW POOOOOOO!" Oh my lanta, my son has pooped in the play place. So gross!

I quickly told the staff, all the while Leif was screaming and E was laughing thinking it was hilarious, Duke was mortified and you could tell. I told the staff to just give me a bag and chemicals and I would clean it up, I mean it was my child. After several attempts they told me that they couldn't let me do that. That's when the real embarrassment kicked in. I felt soooooooo bad. They had to clear out the play center which was crowded and clean the entire play place. It was bad, and it will be a while, if we ever do end up going back again!

7/11 & Cow Appriciation

Tuesday was such an awesome day! To start things off I had a doctors appointment and I hired a sitter for Duke and E so I could go with just Leif. It was SO nice! I also got to run a few errands and it was super quick, I didn't even have to tell anyone to "stay close" or "not to touch" or "to put it back!" Sometimes it's the little things!

When I got home we loaded up and headed off to 7/11 for free Slurpee day! This is a major holiday in our house! 

We have a 7/11 within walking distance and Slurpee's are one of my favorite things ever!!

Then I saw someone post on Instagram about cow appreciation day. I had no idea what it was but I quickly googled it and came to find that if you dressed up like a cow, you got free food at Chick-Fil-A! Score! I called Jakob up and asked if he wanted Chick-Fil-A for dinner and then I whipped up some costumes! The kids were pretty excited! MOOOOOO!

It was pretty busy as expected! The lady inline behind me said she tried coming earlier, but the line was down the street!!!! Holy COW!!

Sprout made one cute calf! I should have glued bottle nipples to his shirt as udders but I only had 20 minutes!

So when you dress like a cow, the kids get free kids meals (full sized) and the adults get a free sandwich of their choosing. We placed our order and when we gt them I had gotten the wrong sandwich. (I can't do spicy foods with Leif, is bugs his tummy.) So I went to the front and they gave me another sandwich throwing the spicy one in the trash (so sad, Jakob could have eaten it.) I took my sandwich back, took a bite and realized it was once again a spicy sandwich. Not wanting to be tthose people that complain over free food, we decided to just leave it, Jakob would eat it and I just wouldn't have one. Then a staff member walked by and asked if there was something wrong. I explained that I had gotten the wrong sandwich but that it was fine. He quickly said, "No, I'll get you another one!" He came back with our fourth sandwich, which was correct. I felt so bad since it was just about closing time, and these guys had been running on full cylinders all day. A few minutes later that same server came by and said "We had an extra spicy sandwich and large fries made up and we can't use it, would you like it?" Jakob looks at me and says "I can't eat three." I told the guy that we would love it. The kids were thrilled to have more fries and Jakob had lunch for tomorrow! 

Jakob then went up to switch out our toys for ice cream. He came back with this big cup FULL of ice cream. He told me that they had run out of little cups and that they were super sorry but they had to give him a big cup instead! Sweet mercy! Talk about the greatest service ever!!! We were so grateful!!

We are BIG Chick-Fil-A fans! It was the best 7/11 ever! We are looking forward to next year, I'll be marking both days on my calendar!!

Thomas Exhibit

I heard that there was a Thomas exhibit downtown and I couldn't wait to take the kids! 

We have some pretty big Thomas fans in our house. 

 We really liked the large trains!!

 

The best part was this giant train table. It was busy, but the kids had a great time playing with all of the trains and tracks. What a fun afternoon!

The Fourth

It's odd having a baby and trying to remember all of his "firsts!" I whipped out Duke's outfit from his first fourth of July. The shorts were a bit small for him but they fit Leif pretty well!! 

I almost feel like he needs to say the pledge of allegiance.

And of course life would not be complete without our favorite outtake! Sheet not centered, flag in the air, Sprout falling, and fifty shades of blurry! THIS is what 99% of my pictures look like. 

E was my kitchen helper as we had friends over for dinner on the 3rd and the 4th. She cut and sliced strawberries and filled them with cream cheese.

 She cut the watermelon into stars...

... to match her festive hair! 

We had our friends and it was wonderful. Who wouldn't enjoy eating burgers two nights in a row?

I was feeling festive so I made up a cake. It wasn't the prettiest on the outside. 

But in the inside it was pretty amazing!!!

It was a fantastic fourth!! So thankful for all of the blessing that come from living in this beautiful country!

Canada Day

 It's Sprout's first Canada Day!! I really need to get more swag for the occasion, our house isn't all that festive. We decided to make up a maple leaf shirt with Leif's hand print. Not too bad considering he's 2 1/2 months old :)

 He's such a stud!

 Mama was the only other person who had any Canadian clothing, I'll have to remedy that when I go back up in a few weeks. We hung up the flag and sang the national anthem.

 Then we were off to pick some blueberries at the Berry Patch. Can you see Duke's name on the pole?

 It's was a warm day but our little ones were good pickers!

 We came home with quite the haul!

 That night it was time to say goodbye to Jakob's luscious locks!

 I really wanted him to rock this look for a few days. 

 All gone! It was amazing how long his hair had gotten!!

Then it was Sprout's turn.

 We just trimmed up the sides and cut off his little rat tail. I'm totally in love with his dark hair! It was a super fun day! Next year I'll be a bit more festive! I am so thankful for my homeland and I am ever so proud to be Canadian!
