Train Day

Our friends Braden and Joanna called us up and told us about this Train festival and we just had to go!

We rode lots of trains. Sprout was a big fan.

A really big fan! I mean does it get any cuter than that? Pure joy!

Daddy was the only big person on this little train and it looked rather comical.

Such a fun day! Chooooo Choooooo!

Hair Cut

I have been at war with my look for awhile now. I love my long hair, as in am ridiculously and strangely attached to it. But it is heavy and tired and I knew I needed a bigger change than just a trim.

So I decided to chop it myself, which was even more terrifying. I knew I still wanted length but I needed it lighter. Every time i have gone to the hairdresser they end up chopping off 6+ inches and I really wasn't alright with that.

So I took the plunge and went to town. It took 20 minutes and I {love} how it turned out. It is about four inches shorter on the bottom. I originally only took off two inches on the bottom but decided to take more because it still looked tired. Then I added layers and LOTS of them.

I completely love the way it curls. How light it is. How it only takes 15 minutes to blow dry instead of 45, and it feels different without changing a lot. Braiding is tricky and updos are a learning curve but over all. I am so happy with it! Baby steps people, baby steps.

Sprout's Sock Monkey

For the last few days Sprout has been sneaking up to Bear's bed and stealing his monkey. I made Bear's monkey when we lived in Nashville and he was instantly attached to it. So naturally when Sprout started stealing it, there was sadness. So naturally, I had to make another.

We had one happy little boy.

I love being able to make things for my kiddos that they love. Bear's monkey was my first, and it is pretty rough, I so love this little guy.

Mother's Day

The greatest joy in my life is being a mother. These three are my world, my joy and hold my whole heart. Each child has it's own piece. They have stretched me, shaped me and love my unconditionally. We have shared sleepless nights, lullaby's, snacks, and snuggles. We have laughed until we cried and cried because we hurt. We have stumbled and we have fallen but we always forgive and stand back up. We love and we cherish and we try to savor the fleeting moments. Motherhood is my greatest challenge and accomplishment and I treasure these three and their Daddy more than my heart can hold. Thank you for letting me be your Mama and helping me grow.

I had to sneak a contraband picture of the kids singing. This was the first time (aside from the program) that both Duke and E got up and sang.

E made me this little bowl in school.

It was a wonderful mothers day! To my Mama, Mom Tobler, Sisters, Aunts, Cousins, Teachers, Friends and all of the other women who have shaped my life thank you for teaching me to be strong and fierce. Thank you for standing by me, supporting me and some days lifting me up. I have been so blessed to have such incredible women in my life!!!

Sweet Shop

We did our (now) yearly yard sale and my very favorite part of it was watching E with her little sweet shop stand.

She stood by her stand all day (from 8-4) and she was so professional.

We kept having to go to E to get change. She had all of the ones and quarters and we only hand big bills. E can hardly wait until next year.

Teeter Totter

I have been in a building mood lately. I have wanted to make a tree house for the kids for a while but the budget wouldn't allow it. So I went to Pinterest and found some super simple plans for a teeter totter.
Such a fun and simple build.

45 minutes later... WOOHOO!

What a fun project!

 Yay! Spring fun!

Then I decided that I wanted to make a tire swing. I got the tire from a friend and I bought the chains and a couple of holes later....

Swing! The kids love it! i love projects that get completed in a day!

Date Day with Duke

Satruday morning rolled around and I had a pretty lengthy list of projects I wanted to accomplish. Project one, hang shelves by the kids beds for their books they read at night. We have some awesome readers in our house but the books are everywhere. Duke was more than willing to help me drill, hammer and screw in some shelves. He is quite handy.

Then I needed to go to Home Depot for some wood and grass seed. In the back the kids were working on the monthly craft. I have never attended the Home Depot craft so Duke and I were both pretty excited!

What a fun little project! then we headed off to Sonic to get treats for the family. It was a fun Mama son day. You are so loved Bear!
