Costume Prep

this year we decided to go with a Mario theme and I was really excited about it. E was going to be Princess Peach. We hunted and hunted all summer for a light pink dress at Savers and on our last Savers run we found this one. Not exactly what we wanted but with some work, it would be wonderful.

E was an expert at seam ripping. This girl is always down to create so she was a great helper.

Restitching the front of the dress.

Hand stitching poofs.

And its done. total cost... $5 for the dress, everything else we had on hand. SCORE!

Sprout was Baby Bowser and it was SUCH a fun costume to work on.

Gramma was a Piranha Plant and this apron turned out to be SOOOOOOOOO cute!

Mama's Toad vest... or may Aladdin? I love Halloween and these costumes have been so much fun!

Trunk or Treat

PRESENT OVER PERFECT!!!! The day of the trunk or treat came and guess what... we were sick. Obviously not, lay-on-the-couch-puke-your-guts-out sick, but we had coughs and we were really contemplating if we were going to go to trunk or treat. after some debating we determined that it was outside and so we would be able to contain our germs so we went.

Sprout was in a mood and so I decided that I wasn't even going to dress him up. Why? Why fight him and make everyone miserable to make me happy? Jakob and I didn't dress up either and it went against everything my heart said it wanted and it was absolutely amazing even if were weren't all matching.

This kid is hands down the cutest Mario EVER!

We got to see friends and play, play, play!

Cora, Millie, Naomi, Clair, Sage and E.

The Mama's Megan, Myself, Anna, Laura, Jodi & Whitney.

Duke won a prize for best costume and he was OVER the MOON! Way to go dude! And that's a wrap and it was wonderful!

Pumpkin Carving

We got invited over to the Jacobs for pumpkin carving and dinner and it was incredible. When I grow up I want to be Laura! She does ALLLL of he magical things!

Yummy food!

Making witches brew with complete with bones, eye balls, and bat wings!

Add some blood and you're good to go!

Carving pumpkins is my absolute favorite!

I think our pumpkins were a bit thick this year. The kids had a really hard time carving.

Daddy to the rescue!

So so cute!

It was a spooky evening with great friends! So much fun!

The next day Sprout and I carved his pumpkin since he wasn't feeling it at Laura's.

He was so stinking cute!!

Good Job little man!

I sure do love these sweet little pumpkins! I can't believe that Halloween is almost here!

Date Night

WE got free movie tickets from participating in the panel after our free movie in August. We had planned to host our annual Halloween party, but there were no babysitters available for our friends due to a YW camping trip so we decided to scrap it. I am so glad we did. So Daddy and I had a date night, our last one for awhile. We went for dinner and saw the Joker and it was so wonderful just being together.

I sure do love you husband. Thanks for a fun evening.

ROAR Award Winner

This year E was one of the first students in her class to get the ROAR award. Her teacher Mrs. Edge could not say enough good things about E at her parent teacher conference. She told me that if she could have a class full of E's she would take fourty of her.

E is excelling at her reading and math. She is in an advanced leaning group, though she doesn't know that. She is a wonderful helper, and a good leader. Her confidence is improving and I love how Mrs. Edge pushes her outside of her comfort zone to help her grow!

It was so much fun seeing her get her award and the look on her face when she noticed we were there.

But I think her favorite part was the fact that Papa showed up and we went out for ice cream after. We sure do love Papa Hensley. It was a good day celebrating our amazing girl!!
