Sprout's Goggles

Sprout found some goggles in the closet and has been wearing them non stop for the past three days... usually while naked.

I mean he's probably the cutest in the world.

He also lives in the "pool."

It is always an adventure with this guy!

Brothers

Sprout is obsessed with Redd. He is such a sweet brother. He will at times just ignore him but if he cries he is right there rocking him, or handing him his sue. He will play peek-a-boo and shhhh him to help calm him down. He loves to hold him and is always kissing his head.

He is protective and cries if Redd is with someone who isn't Mama, Daddy or Papa and Gram. He got mad at the nurse when she went to weight Redd at his check up and told her "Don't take my BABY!" when she came back with the biggest scowl. He sings and loves and he called him "Red-drick."

I love these two and while Sprout is a whole lot of two year old to handle most days, he is still a wonderful big brother. This picture makes me giggle every time. I can't wait to watch these guys grow up!

Crown Center & Santa

We were a week late for Santa pictures. Went down on a Thursday and still had to wait in line for 30 minutes. It wasn't bad, but next year I will try my darnedest to be there the first week. Papa Hensley came with us and it was a blast!!

Not our best kids photo ever, but not our worst ;)

This pictures give me allllllll the feels though. Sweet Redd and Santa. This was one of his very first smiles and my heart just about burst.
The kids then had a lot of fun playing in the Santa Workshop.

Papa got some good shots. Sprout would watch the rain and follow it as it made it's loop then race back laughing as it would start again. Over and over. So cute!

The best part about Papa taking pictures? I am in some of them!! I feel like my kids are going to look back and think I wasn't there and a selfie just isn't very cute.

We love climbing on the trucks!!

Taking a picture for someone while nursing... ya know... like a Mom.

So good to get out of the house, spend some time with Papa and see Santa!

Mom Life

Well, this was a fail. A horrible lack of judgement on my behalf but that's is parenthood too right? We had to run some errands, and while we were already loaded up I decided to try and squeeze one last errand in and head to the mall. We were quickly approaching nap time but I figured we could be quick, pick up lunch at the mall and head home. My first road block happened before we even got out of the car. I should have called it quits then. It was absolutely a sign. I couldn't remember how to open my stroller. I spent 20 minutes trying to get it open and in the process, Redd woke up from his nap and had started screaming. I grabbed my wrap and decided that I would just get us inside and then I could wrap him to me. I stuck Sprout in the bottom of the stroller and he lost it, saying he wanted to walk... so we did.... a very slow walk into the mall.

I got to the stand to purchase my ornament and the entire time Redd was screaming as if his fingernails were being ripped from his body. Leif was trying to race up the escalator and I told him that if he stayed close we could ride the carousel after Mama was done. I finally got Redd wrapped to me and Sprout was still trying to sneak away. Once we finished at the first place, I headed three doors down to Hallmark to purchase another ornament. While in the store Leif said, I have to pee. Redd is still screaming and I literally left my stroller, purse and phone in the middle of the store, asked an associate to watch it and race to the bathroom with Leif. We get into the bathroom and he starts screaming because the toilets and hand dryers are too loud. Redd is still losing his mind. Five minutes later and literally ripping Sprouts pants off him we were done in the bathroom. I stopped outside the bathroom door to try and latch Redd so he could nurse in the wrap. Some random guy was staring at me and I almost punched him. Seriously did he have to make me feel sooooo uncomfortable?

We get back into the Hallmark store and I make my purchase, Sprout proceeds to throw an ornament across the store, thankfully it wasn't fragile. I thank the associate and turn to grab the stroller and Leif has taken off towards the carousel. I race after him and we stand in line.

We are now happily sitting on the carousel. He is all smiles and all is well in the world. I plan our next step and tell him that once we are done it's time to go home. The ride ends and he does not want to get off. How did I not see that coming? I tell him that we have to get off to have another turn that our coins were only good for one. So he climbs down and then Throws himself on the floor once I tell him that he don't have another coin. I walk 10 steps to get the stroller thinking if I just put Redd down then I can carry Sprout. Sprout then races to the play place beside the carousel. As I am trying to get him out of the play place still wearing Redd he starts screaming and throwing himself. He runs by me and races around the carousel where I can't see him. Some mom's laugh and say "I remember that stage" No, obviously you don't because if you did, you would never let my two year old run away when I clearly have a newborn and can't chase him! I leave my stroller and race to catch him. Redd at this point is screaming bloody murder. I pick up Leif, while he's thrashing and hold him between my legs because he keeps hitting Redd in the head while he thrashes.

I try to get Redd out of the wrap and in his car seat and just as I lay him down Leif slips from between my legs and races to the escalator, and gets on. all while Mom's watch and shoot super judgey looks at me. I leave Redd, my new born baby and run up the escalator, grab Leif and start running down the wrong way. Heaven knows that Leif would have gotten to the top and started running and then I'd never find him. At this point every single person is staring at me in the mall and not one single person asks to help. I grab Leif, throw him in the bottom of the stroller, buckle him in and beeeeeeeeline it out of the mall. It was terrible. The worst kind of crazy and the whole time I was thinking WHY DID I DO THIS??? Moral of the story, life is kicking my butt. Cute pictures are totally fake.

1 Month

Weight: 9lbs 11oz (45%)
Height:  21 1/2" (44%)
Head: 15.15" (84%) (Yeah that's Daddy's boy!)
Nicknames: Reddy-Roo (not in love with it since my Daddy called me Roo, but we'll see if it sticks.)

+ Redd's skin is so so soft. I just want to pet it all day long.
+ Baby boy cries if he's not in Mama's arms. This boy is 100% mine. I suppose that's what happens when Daddy is sick for most of the month and can't hold you. I'm not even sad about it either. I want to spend every single second holding this precious boy.

+ We have had a bit of a battle nursing. I have no idea why it has to be so gosh darn difficult. His latch was pretty terrible so we went to two lactation specialists and at his one week appointment he got diagnosed with Thrush, which we still have. It is such a pain and our first round of treatment didn't work so here we are. Hopefully that gets cleaned up soon.
+Redd likes his sue! He was overeating to satisfy that suck to sooth, and then he was puking.... a lot. But he latch was bad so giving him a sue wasn't the best either, at long last we are finally in a good place with latch, so he can have his sue and he's a fan!

+ Boy likes to hold in his burps. He makes me work for them which gives him a yucky tummy but when he gets them out... it's a big one!
+His little face makes a perfect "o" when he stretches in the morning and it has me swooning every single time!!

+ He's not a big fan of being set down which can get tricky. Thankfully there have been a lot of helping hands and lots of big brothers and a sister to help Mama. This boy is so loved!
+ His eye contact is getting better. So sweet when he looks ta you with those big blue eyes.

+ Finally the jaundice has cleared up and we have a happy pink little baby with white eyes!
+ Redd is either sound asleep or SCREAMING in his car seat. He doesn't mind so much if the car is moving but if we stop at all he is MAD!!

+ His favorite napping place is laying on my chest and I am alllllll about napping together!!
+ He must constantly be patted on the back, soft, hard, he doesn't care he just needs continual motion.
+ HATES being swaddled.

+ If you wrap him in a soft plush blanket he will be asleep in seconds. He loves the soft and cozy fabric!
+ This boys head is up allllll the time. He wants to see and hear everything! He will lift his head up on my shoulder and then drop is down and cry because he bonked it on my collar bone. So sad. I have a feeling I am going to have another busy one on my hands!

+ I feel like he is my scrawniest baby but I am totally into it. I'm sure he'll chunk up really quick though.

And a few more pictures because... that's just how I roll.

Sprout is obsessed with "Red-drick." He pronounces his name really well. We are all so in love with this beautiful sweet baby. I can't handle that he's already a month old!!

Christmas Jam Jams

Eli & Etta brought Christmas Jam Jams and gosh darn it they were cute! I told them to get bigger ones than last year, and they were still a bit snug. Sprout is wearing a size 6 :).

Oh my heart! These kiddos are so wonderful. Children make the holidays so gosh darn magical!

Cutest little Elf you ever did see!!
