Christmas Eve

Gramma was busy in the kitchen all day preparing our turkey dinner. She's amazing. Rights before dinner was done, we decided to head out on an adventure.

We went to look at lights. I love this park. It's a quick loop around the lake and it's just beautiful!

The weather was perfect and we got some wiggles out!

Then we came home for dinner. So good. Lots of people dis the turkey but it's one of my favorites.

Some one was in charge of the cranberry sauce (me) and forgot to get it ready.... so this is how it went on the table. We be classy like that.

We Watched the Nativity and then we got dressed up to act it out. I wish I would have filmed it. You never would have known how crazy it was from these pictures. Everyone was talking. We had a dinosaur as one of the wise men. and at least two children were crying through the whole 5 minute production and guess what....

It was perfect! Every screaming, crazy, ridiculous second of those five minutes. Next year I will film it.

then the kiddos got to open their presents from Grammy and Pa. Now that our elves bring our Jam Jams at the beginning of the month we need a new gift to open on Christmas Eve.

Sprout was so excited about his truck book!!

"The Children were nestled...

...all snug in their beds.

 While visions of sugar plums....

... danced in their heads.

Merry Christmas to all and to all a goodnight!"

Christmas Houses

Christmas Eve is here and our first order of business is to make some houses!!!

I LOVE Christmas houses!!! Its one of my favorite traditions and we just had to wait for Gramma and Pa to arrive to we could do it together!

Sprout just COULD NOT touch the candy. He had to have it.... all of it. He was abit better once he got some glue and started building a house. We eventually had him spitting out pieces if we'd catch him eating them. Poor guy.

Looking good Bear!!

So much concentration :)

Final products!!!

Duke's.

Peanut's.

Pa's.

Jakob's... of course! Now onto more activities!!!

Nutcracker

This year E & I were supposed to go to the Nutcracker together. I was so excited and then I realized it just wasn't going to happen since Redd wasn't taking a bottle yet. So Daddy daughter date to the rescue. E was pretty excited!!

I asked Daddy to take a picture of E and he did! I was pretty pleased with him! They had a great time and topped it of with ice cream and picking up Grammy and Pa from the airport! What a wonderful day.

Christmas Sunday

I just love Christmas Sunday. The story, the music, one hour church and visiting with friends! It's pretty much the best.

We bundled up Redd in his little bear sweater from Michelle next door. He was just darling.

E snapped this picture of Redd and I.

Then we just HAD to get a few pictures of this super cute onesie from Gram and Papa Hensley. My heart is melting!!!

I so love this sweet boy and this time of year!!

Sibling Gifts

This year was a tricky one. I felt like I was prepared, that I had my expectations on point and that we would just go with the flow. Then I lost it some how. Sibling gifts are a big deal for me. I like for the kids to take time to think about each other, to plan out what they want to buy and then do it. This year Jakob was also working like crazy and was rarely home before 6:30 or 7. Which made it impossible to go and get siblings gifts. So I just bought something for Sprout to give E. He didn't mind. those expectations people.

E wanted to get Duke a baby shark from IKEA. We headed out only to find out that they were sold out. I asked everyone, Googled and came to find that shipping was more than the toy itself and wouldn't arrive until after Christmas. E was pretty disappointed. We even tried to see if we could open up the toy donation case and take the one shark that was in there, and replace it with another toy to no avail. So E got him candy and called it good.

Duke wanted to give a gift to Redd. He picked out this cute little fox.

He was pretty excited to give it to him but then was a bit sad when he realized that Redd was too small to play with it. Whoops. So sibling gifts weren't as magical this year. We will try again next year and I will have my act together.
