First Birthday Photo Shoot

Sprout's birthday shoot and I was totally loving it! This kid this theeeeee beeeesssstt! Now here are way too many pictures and I won't even apologize!

So I took him off the crate and did his hair and put him back on the crate. He was NOT impressed with me.

He was also completely unimpressed with his cake. Wanted nothing to do with it. So we paused the pictures until the next day to see if it was just his mood.

So happy!!
 Testing it out...

Completely unimpressed...

Boy doesn't like cake.

That night we cut the cake and sang happy birthday. E was in charge of recording it, I took pictures. Daddy was in charge of not letting Sprout get burned like E did... guess what... he got burnt. Poor guy. I thin that solidified the fact that he doesn't like cake. Now onto the party!!

One Year

    • Weight: 22 lbs 10oz (44th percentile)
    • Height: 29.5" (53rd percentile)
    • Head Circumference: 48.9 cm (97th percentile)
    • Nicknames: Sprout, Sproutatticus, Goo Goo
    • Boy is walking stumbling. He has taken a few steps but walked from the wing back to the couch following Devin's phone. (May 1st) He is now taking a couple of steps surfing from here to there. Go baby go!
    •  He loves patty cake. He is all sorts of giggly when we play. Its adorable. He also likes when we sing wheels on the bus and sometimes he'll roll his hands around.
    • This boy {loves} books. Touch and feel are his favorites but he'll go for just about any book. He loves to read before bed and will ask to read (point) the same book over and over.

    • Leif is always about the food. He now drinks a protein shake twice a day and he loves it! Kid pounds it back so fast I'm worried he'll get sick. He loves fruit, veggie pouches, chicken and anything you are eating. He isn't a fan of Cheerios, bread or cake. (We tried to give him cake twice for is cake smash pictures and he wanted nothing to do with it.)
    • Sprout has taken a few steps!!! He's still much too nervous but if he doesn't think about he he can go quite a ways! His preferred method of transportation is being held but he can crawl lightning fast so it's still his go too. I'm sure he'll be toddling all over soon enough. Go baby go! (April 3rd)
    • He has finally cut that top tooth and now has three teeth total. His fourth tooth is going to be here pretty soon. Teething is the worst! Poor boy.

    • Sprout won't talk unless forced. He can still say a few words but he is so good at communicating without words that he doesn't even try. He gets really frustrated when you try to get his to say more vs either signing it, or just pointing. I'm not worried, obviously having had Duke first I am paying more attention.
    • He likes to stick out his tongue now. Not all the way just barely and it is my FAVORITE!
    • Kid loves his Dad! Those two are best buds. By 5:00 I am so ready for Daddy to come home. Sprout is rather whiney around me, not terribly but he likes to voice his concerns, but so happy around his Dad. everyone is excited when Daddy comes home!
    • The boy loves the basement. He now has free rein of the entire house and it is so nice! He will go downstairs and play for a really long time and he gets so excited when I leave the door to the basement open.
    • He is sleeping through the night! *Woot Woot!* He wakes up around 7:00 a.m. and then he eats and has a morning protein shake. He goes down for nap between 9:30 and 10:00 a.m. and sleeps until roughly 11:00-11:30 a.m. he's then up for lunch and plays until 1:30 p.m. and then he is down until 3:30 p.m. when the kids get home. Then we do dinner around 5:00p.m. and then we start bedtime routine at 6:00 p.m. and everyone is in bed by 6:45/7:00 p.m.
    • He still takes a sue and has it with him all the time. After our upcoming trip to Vegas we plan to start weening him off of it.
    • Sprout loves my phone. He is very fond of Skyping and taking pictures and can say EEEE-SE! whenever someone tries to snap a photo.
    • Sprout {loves} his elephant. They are the best of friends. He is very attached to his mint green and grey blanket. He loves Lego's a destroying everything the kids make. He likes towers, and blocks. He loves to swing and mess things up. Playing isn't his forte, but he is ALWAYS busy!
    • He is still rear facing in the car in his bucket but will graduate out of that shortly and stay rear facing in a five point car seat.
I can't believe that my baby is one! That was the fastest year yet and I can't even describe how much we adore sweet baby Leif. He is the best baby. He has such a wonderful temperament, is always happy and willing to go to anyone. He has a laugh that makes you laugh with him. He has a wisdom about him that I can't quite explain but you can feel, an old soul. He is just someone you love without consciously deciding to do so. Happy birthday sweet boy, may you move mountains! You are SO loved!

          Fiesta

For our Young Women's fundraiser this year we went with a taco themed dinner/ fiesta! London and I were put in charge of decorations and I am so pleased with how it turned out!!

We spent $30 and I honestly felt like this place looked amazing! Gyms are SO hard and really do swallow up all decorations.

We also had a silent and a not so silent auction, which was cute.

And here are more pictures of setting up.

The real pop were these tissue papaer flowers! They were so simple but a bit time consuming to do. They added so much color to the room and I LOVED them!

Food was catered by Costa Vita. (No, it wasn't my plan and No I would not do it again!) It was delicious!!

This fundraiser was so stressful and I am so glad it is over. In the end we made a profit. My part was decorations and I thin that they really spoke for themselves!

          Oma's Visit

We were so excited to have Oma here for her spring break and Easter! First item of business was off to Costco to gather goodies.

E was so excited when she got off the bus!

Oma brought some Christmas chimes and we had fun playing a few songs.

Then Oma wanted to buy E a birthday gift. It was a lot of fun seeing what the kids would pick out.

Bear was so excited to make goodies with Oma. Sticky fingers!

We sure do love our Oma and are looking forward to her coming back in July!
