Zoo Date

The sun was shining and we were getting tired of our same old routine so we headed off to the zoo!!

When we go in groups we tend not to see much. Lots of walking from the penguins to the train and once that is done, it's time to go home again.
But not before we ride the carousel. Estill just sits on the peacock bench that doesn't go up and down and Manny will ride an animal but you have to hold onto him.

Our Crew. Love these ladies!

We had a great day with our besties!

Picaso

One afternoon, Duke came in the house looking like this. I was a bit curious as to what exactly had happened.

Apparently E and Emery had decided to "paint his face" with chalk. We didn't hear any screaming so he must have sat pretty still.

Poor little guy, E was very proud of her creation!

Mother's Day Weekend

Kicking off mother's day weekend I got the sweetest letter in the mail from my nieces. I will be having to have a chat with them about my age however! Janet is so sweet and thinks of the cutest things. I am a lame Aunt but thank you Houston Toblers for making me feel special!

At long last we made it to the temple. The last time we went was my birthday....  almost two years ago! Yikes! It was so nice to go and the first time I have been since my Daddy passed. Things were very emotional but I managed not to bawl my eyes out like a crazy person in front of everyone.

The KC temple is BEAUTIFUL!!! I just love it!

Sunday was low key and I really enjoyed that. We took the kids to the park and played.

(Picture will be inserted once I return home)
For my present I bought myself a miter saw!!!!!! OHMYGOSH! I am so in love with it!! Lazer, angle cuts, the blade rotates!!! I couldn't be happier! Plus is it just perfect for my next project! (post coming soon!)

It was a wonderful mothers day and I am so thankful for the women, mothers, grandmothers, aunts, family and friends who have influnced my life. I have been surrounded by strong, brave, gentle, sweet and loving women my entire life and each and every woman in my life has left a footprint in my heart. I am the woman and mother I am because of you! I am so thankful for my two sweet and precious babies who have made me a mother. Being a mom has been my life's greatest joy, trial, sacrifice and accomplishment. My children stretch me every day and through them I become and little bit stronger and taller. I love rediscovering the world with them and they bring so much love and laughter into our home. I have been so blessed! Happy Mother's Day!

Tired Boy

This little man likes to sleep. We tried to ween him off of his two nap schedule and go to one nap back in January and he just wasn't having it. For the most part he still take two 2-3 hour naps a day. But if we have a morning activity, he is fine to skip his morning nap. On this particular day, we had gone to the gym to play and missed him morning nap. He was running, climbing and jumping around like crazy. Gretchen and I came home, made lunch and I gave him a puzzle to play with. He was out within minutes. Poor creature, this very rarely if ever happens.

Second nap was only a half hour away so we just tucked him into bed. This boy is a wild thing, but he sleeps so well. I sure do love you Duke Manfred!

May the Forth be with You

May the Fourth is a serious holiday in our house. This year I wore my Star Wars shirt, rocked out some Rey hair and my heels! Nerd alert! I need easy on the go things for the kiddos.

Any reason I can wear these bad boys again is a good reason!

Duke Speech Therapy - Week 7

After all of the progress Duke was making we seemed to have hit a wall. He still repeats sounds but will not form words. This week during therapy Duke had a cold and was cranky. He worked for a bit and then he shut down. This week we are going to continue his words and try to get him to call for me instead of just yelling or me just coming.

The Dug Out

One of our new favorite places to go is to the dug out. There is fresh air and just so many beautiful things to look at. Can you see the heard of deer crossing the road in front of us?

Chilly water? No problem if you are a tiny human. The kids were super excited to play and splash in the water!

 This goose followed Duke everywhere!

Now even though we Canadians are known for being extra friendly Canadian Geese are not really Canadain. They are mean sons of guns and all Duke wanted to do was play with him. Did you know they hiss?? Neither did I, but Duke found out. Dumb goose. So pretty from afar!

 Loving the sunshine!!!!

Even though the sun was out, it was still a bit chilly, but we were looking forward to coming back. I think our next photo shoot will be out here!

Our Boys in Blue

Jakob won a drawing for another set of Royals Tickets but this time they were primer and in the Diamond Club. It was very VIP!

So we called up Hattie and Justin and we were off! We got to sit at a table, right behind home plate and we got free food, which is always and huge bonus!

Taking a hot dog to the next level!

I was never a baseball fan, but now that I understand it more going to games is super fun! We sit, chat, and watch a game!

The Royals won but the best part was spending a fun VIP evening with these crazies! Such a fun night!
