Jakob's Birthday

 Jakob turned 33 this year. Dang, this blows my mind! We had a very low key day since his birthday gift is a day to himself to get things done and work on the basement without kids or distractions. Not the most glamours of gifts, but sometimes it's just want you need! 

 

Once upon a time ten years ago, my G-ma asked Jakob what his favorite cake was for his birthday. He told her that he liked yellow cake with whipped cream and berries. She laughed and said "No you like black forrest cake." And that is what she got. to this day we still laugh about it.

So for his birthday this year I asked him what cake he would like. He told me black forrest. So that is what I did. I made him a chocolate cake, with ganache and real cherry filling. Covered in a suspended whipped cream frosting and a chocloate ganache. It was delicious. 

Maybe G-ma was right, this is his favorite. cake. Happy birthday to my lover, my life, my ride or die. We love you Jakob!
